Well, it is quite plain and simple, but has brick build parts, and still, an affordable castle.
I see this as a "starter" to the modular system, since it could be expanded further with the whole series of little buildings (you know, from 6040 to 6067...).
So it is good for those reasons but can be decent as a stand-alone too because it has a consequent play value/size-price rate. Perhaps it should have integrated two generic soldiers with round shield to be able, if needed, to part opponents off the set itself.

I didn't get this set as I was in a dark age. I wish I would have, but I think my parents would have frowned on me getting it (I was 16 at the time of release). One reason to have this set is that it's one of the first of the "second generation" of castle sets, the first generation being the famed "Yellow Castle" and supporting sets. Green flags would have been cool to have back then.

I don't have this set, I didn't exist yet. But it looks cool and has Black Falcons, My favorite faction along with the BK. I like the red door, unlike most. I think it looks welcoming and cheery.
