Peasents

Post by Robin Hood »

I wonder why that in all of its years Lego has had only about half-a-dozen sets with peasents. I think it would be neat to have a line of sets with commoners. Does anyone know of a set with mostly commoners besides the blacksmith shop.
I build, therefore I am.

Commoner's aren't as exciting as knights and warriors would be my explanation. Wouldn't be much demand, amongst children anyway, for a gong farmer set, now would there?

Here are some sets I know of with peasants:

Smuggler's Hayride #1974

Knights Challenge #1584

Castle Minifigs #6103
http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6103_1

Supply Wagon #6010
http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6010

Those are the ones that come to my mind,
Steve

why do most peasants have pitchforks? :D
They should make ones with shovels mining for an evil warlord!

LEGO castles don't have peasents. But thanks to the SW sets, you can easily make them. A lot of the SW torso and hoods are great for that. Bought a lot of them only for that.

Peasants are useful for historical accuracy, and should properly outnumber all the other people, but when your building focus is, like mine, on fortresses, nobles, and armies, the building of peasants becomes rather irrelevant. (My apologies to all my peasant ancestors :D )

If you've got too many pitchforks, you could always send them to me. I'll send you shovels in return...

Too many pitchforks :!: :!: :!:

Something's not right here people! I mean, how is this possible. I mean, I have 200+ distinct Lego sets, and not one pitchfork. Or even a peasant. I have to make them up! How can anyone say they have too many pitchforks :?:

I thought this discussion was about peasants, and not about too many pitchforks

Anyway, a peasant-line would be great. That would make the medieval-scene complete: A castle, a farm/peasant village, and sherwood-forest.

but i don't think TLC will ever create a peasant-line.

Its impossible to discuss Lego peasants without their pitchforks. Their pitchforks are what make them so cool! :D

Lego Castle has centered around the castle itself. not the medievel town. Thus most of the figs are warrios and knights. It is harder to get peasants because this, but it is better than the alternative.

What if Lego Castle sets had knights and peasants in their proper ratios? It would be almost impossible to create a large army

You can always use torso pieces from other minifigures to make peasants.

Yes. I've found every single jedi torso from the Star Wars line complements my Dunharin Resistance army nicely, as well as their opressors, the Scarlet Army.
