On kind of a side note...I was flipping through my catalogue and noticed that the price for this set is now $135 CDN. I checked the website and it's not a printing error ala the Fire Brigade in the last catalogue. It's not very often that a set is reduced in price. It's not on sale, it's reduced. Go get it Canadians, this may mean that it's not going to be around much longer. It's not as timeless as we like to think it is, it does after all have those Crown knight in it and they do kind of date the set a bit.

I took notice of that price reduction too. I wonder if the lowering of the price has anything to do with the strong Canadian dollar at the moment or if it's just a coincidence.

Nothing else seemed to drop but I'll admit freely that I don't pay that much attention to set prices unless it's a set I'm either interested in or own.

Well I just ordered mine so I am looking forward to it. I plan on adding the other civilian sets when they are released and it should amount to a pretty good civilian scene.

My girlfriend just got it for me for my birthday. My question is, why are the cows smaller than the horses? That just seems wrong to me.

Horses are usually taller than cows, add to it that the lego horse is quite tall, compared to the minifig.
I wonder why TLC didn't manage to put an attachment system (stud or clip) on the cow's head to put trailing gear on them, because that's the way we do with such animals.
For the longer live of this set than the fantasy line, they should have put more generic torsos to the two soldiers.

This is indeed a beautiful set, although the houses are so tall they do look a bit OTT next to other Lego castles and towers - the Kingdom's Outpost Attack set for example looks positively tiny next to these massive manors, although the Crownies' tower from Tower Raid fares a bit better (once you remove the awful flickfire missles, of course).

I am looking forward to getting Village Mill Raid later this year and adding that to the Village.

Well this is THE Lego that made me return to my legos after 2000!! Although it looks really beautiful it also seems a little bit out of place next to my old classic lego sets! Not only it is too much detailed it is also too tall according them!! The good thing is that it is around the same size with 3739 Blacksmith Shop and so i decided to make a small village! I will also add my old Guardian Inn with them:

(As you see in the picture the old sets look more childish though :( )
With the adition of the upcoming new Village Mill Raid i will make a very cool village scene! :)

I also made a small chapell-church to put with them:

How do you find it? Keep in mind i don't have many free pieces because i have only few castle sets and i keep them assembled :(

Btw: How many hours took you to build MMV?? It took me about 5-6 hours! (keep in mind i was playing with legos from 1991, this was TOO much time!)

PS: Again sorry for my English! :roflol:

Okay, really late to the game but we've basically finished this build. I say we because I started it and it's ended up being a session of roast lamb, red wine and building with the misses (who is now a convert) and her sister and brother in-law.

For a while we thought the wine had affected our counting ability however we've independantly (the BIL, genetically speaking, he's independant to me) verified that we have two missing 1x1 bricks. I was releaved to see that others have found missing pieces. This set was purchased recently (factory sealed) via Bricklink so I don't know how that would go with LCS. Any ideas.

I have another factory sealed copy arriving via eBay so I can only assume that there's a chance that there might be missing pieces in there too.

I have to say though, we've thoroughly enjoyed the build.

I doubt LEGO would have any issues replacing missing pieces from a sealed set, regardless if has gone thru a BL reseller or not. I probably would make sure you get the lot (batch) number from the Seals that hold the set closed and also perhaps build the second one to see if it's missing the same pieces, that is if you are planning on building it soon at all. LEGO customer service is really good about replacing missing/broken parts.
