That fortress is a great item. That could probably be the signature black falcon set. The knights are in a good amount, six in the set.

this set was very awesome. This could probably be called the signature black falcon set. The six men was a great touch. The alternate designs were very cool as well, but the whole connection by pin thing was kind of annoying when trying to transport it elsewhere.

That seller only ever wrote to me after I left the bad feedback. But now I think I should have gone with neutral like I had originally planned.

All I have to say is, I'm glad I put bids on two! Really, the first one that arrived in the mail was in the Black Falcon's Fortress box, but it was Black Monarch's Castle in terms of the pieces! It was complete though, and for $50 not a bad deal at all.

I did end up getting the Fortress, and I love it. I have it set up with a couple other Black Falcon's modular sets for a really neat display. These sets really shine once you connect a few other wall sections with them. I had inspiration from the pictures JoJo posted. With all of the pin connections on some of the more recent LEGO sets, I was hoping that maybe they would return to this style. I guess I can dream.

I love and wish for another rerelease as I didn't get one last time around and the prices are heavily marked up now.

Definitely a great set! It was a Christmas present for my brother and me when we were little. I'm currently working on rebuilding it after all these years... when I spied that yellow tudor wall piece in one of the old Lego boxes I knew I'd be able to. I like it even better than I remember, but maybe that's because now it has a lot of childhood memories attached. :)

I can't believe I've never bothered to comment on what is easily my favourite Castle set of all time. This set is without equal. For sheer value (12 corner walls, six soldiers, the 75 corner slopes, etc), this castle is hard to beat. When LEGO re-released it I picked up 5 additional copies to go with the original one I had from my childhood. It's a purchase I'll never regret.

Simply put; this set goes to 11.

11/10.

This was my first large castle set and is still my favourite. :D Its a great set with more than enough figures. And its one of the few sets that I didnt lose any pieces for.
When it came out in Australia in the 80's it was called Eagle Crest castle. So to me its always going to be known as that.

I give Eagle crest castle 9.5/10. I'd give it 10 but its not very portable. If you pick it up the back wall with the tudor building falls off.

That’s interesting to know. And it is the reason why I would encourage people to call sets by their name and by their number. Set numbers are universal. Names are not.

That's a much cooler name than Black Falcon's Fortress...

Easily one of the best sets ever!
Sadly i dont have one. And 6 soldiers for a small castle! What do we get these days? About the same number of troops for a large castle!
Tlc, come on, bring back Black falcons and humans vs. humans themes!

Not bad lego...
This set is hard to rate. It is to small to play in, the drawbridge is made out of string, and I beleive there are no rival factions=to no playability by itself.
But...
This set is amazing! It had all the elements of need for nogilista, simple, cheap (compared to other castles) and fully surronded. Best of all, NO CATAPULT it is so annyoning to have more catapults than figs!

This is a good set for sheer good bricks it seems to me the castles got worst in 2000's and a little better in 2007, but the minifigs got better. I would of liked the black falcons to were blue scale mail instead of their armor-less clothes this set is the influencne for the french men's fortress in my articale THE NEXT CASTLE LINE
