I really like this set and it makes me a bit nostalgic as I believe it was my first castle set - I recently rebuilt it and it's still pretty cool-9/10 then and now

I'm surprised I've never reviewed this set. Though, at this point, there isn't much left to say.

I do like the blue arches, as they can be used to make windows for blue half-timbered houses.

I think I have this set, and if my brain is working right, then I remember that I really hated the design of the doors!

I own this set and I like it. It works great in MOC's with the skeletons using their own carriage.

My brother and I owned this set once and I would love to be able to own it again. I want to get it, so that I can use the knight as a LEGO minifigure of myself.

Usually I don't take this long to review a set, but this review is fairly simple and will echo like the Grand Canyon. A Classic set (10/10) from the Golden Era of Castle. I do agree that it could use another horse. I think I'll take a moment to dream about those early sets...

Somehow, this set always sticks in my mind when I think of "classic" castle. I loved it. Look at the awesome playability... a knight on horseback, a forestman, and a foot soldier driving a prisoner cart. I think I played more with this than with some of my castles!

I went looking through the thread to see what I had said and...I'd never said anything! So here I am.

I loved this set when it came out. I was collecting the forestmen at the time and this set was a welcome addition. Those nasty Crusaders may have captured one of the merry men, but they weren't smart enough to put locks on the doors! So he escaped every time. Anyway, I think its a great design and holds heaps of nostalgia for me.

When I first looked at the online instructions, It was a "eureka" moment for me when I saw another use for my black Fright Knights Flying Machine black brackets, how did they end up on a flying machine?

I instantly started building this set from spare parts then discovered all my potential jail door bars were studs closed not open, so it was of to bricklink.

I love this set! I got it for Christmas last year, it was one of my first original castle sets, 8/10

This is a great set. I really like the fully armed and armored knight that that comes in it. 9/10

This is one of the sets that made me dream about castle for days and nights. If only I had it, when it was out, I would have certainly been the happiest boy on earth.
Just think about it! A fully armoured fig with the pointed visor, a robin hood (wich I had none), a soldier, a four-wheeled cart, two horses, a saddle! unbelievable in such a little box!
But since it was time to grow up, I was already given only technics for a while.

I say robin hood for any forestmen, because in french, forestmen sound pretty much like cavemen.

At least the minifigs look realistic.

"Flip-boxes", gold-colored Castle boxes...wow, I just had a nostalgia burst myself!

And to pile nostalgia upon nostalgia, I love how I'm commenting on something someone said in 2004. Just a testimony to the laid-back easy going style of the classic-castle forums [which I earnestly appreciate].
