I think the most distressing thing about KKII is knowing that it will probably be 2008 before TLC does another castle line - and there is no guarantee that it will be very good either.

I figure we'll be dealing with KKII for 2004 and 2005 (maybe longer... ugh) and then there will be a couple years of downtime before there is another castle line. At least, that is probably what will happen if the gap from KK to KKII is any indication.

I don't think Harry Potter has too much of an impact on castle, but it might have been enough for TLC to not go with something a bit more realistic in place of KK2.

Sparkly: "as long as J.K. Rowling keeps writing books". Well, she's got two more books to go before being finished with the series. I've seen statements from her that that's it, but of course the almighty dollar (pound, actually) might induce her to try a prequel, sequel, or spinoff series (think of Robert Jordan's difficulty in wrapping up his Wheel of Time books).

On the SW license, IIRC the word on FBTB is that it is up in 2007 (though we don't know if that is January 2007 or Christmas 2007). As Sparkles said, my castle town settings are almost entirely populated by SW minifigs, so I don't lament this line at all.

The HP license was not for all the movies, it was originally secured for the first 3 so it is possible that the HP line will die once this years sets are gone. As to the SW license, a good portion of my villagers are also made up of SW figs and I certainly prefer jedi torsos to space torsos for my villagers.

After a long absence, I have returned. I can't wait to start building again.
