This week’s gear is 925746 Fright Knights Playing Cards.

Fright Knights Playing Cards were released for Castle in 1997. The set includes fifty two cards in four suits and three skeleton jokers.

Interesting; I have never heard of these until now. I wonder why they made three jokers? That seems weird, most decks of cards only have two.

All in all, it's a good deck of cards; they could have done better (especially with today's technology), but they're alright. That seems like a queer way to market LEGO; obviously, it didn't work, because I've never heard of these until now.

I LIKE the decks of cards and I use the jokers so I have no problem with three existing. I would have been more than happy to own these. I own several copies of the pirate deck. I use them regularly. People playing with me enjoy them.

Please remember, that what is "queer" (this is not a very pc word to use by the way) is not to others.

Hmmm...cool looking cards. I too haven't heard of these cards. They do remind me of the Pirate Cards also. I would get them if they came out right now. Maybe Lego should make a new version with Kingdoms... :D

Wow, that was kind of out of the blue. I'd never heard of these. Are these good quality plastic-coated cards? Sometimes when you get souvenir decks they're pretty cheap cards and start falling apart after a few games.

Bruce,

The card stock is shiny. However these do not have a thick plastic coat like a good deck of cards. They are similar in quality to the recent Pirates playing cards.

Perhaps I bashed them to much; remember, I did say they were good, but that I didn't care for them as much as other playing cards (I take my cards seriously  ) As to the whole 'queer' thing, I realized that when posting; I figured most folks on this site are mature enough to realize the dictionary defenition of the word.

I never knew these existed either. I'd buy them as a collector's item if they were under $10, but I wouldn't play with them. That's what KEM and Bicycle are for.

I would buy these to. I still need to get the pirate cards. Overall, the idea seems a little cheesy, but in a good way. :D

My first reaction to this thread topic: Is it April 1st already?

Wow, never heard of this one before, and I'm not sure this revelation is good. :twitch:

Interesting. Though I do have one question? What do the different suits look like? Are they all Royal King for king, Hubble bubble for queen and random dark forest guy for jack? I so, I think they'd be a lot better if they made each suit based on faction, ie. Basil - King, Hubble - Queen, Fleur de Les knight - jack.
Otherwise it's still a fairly neat idea, I just think it could have been better executed.

Defiantly. I don't know why King Leo (isn't that his name?) would be married to a witch! After all, they are both heart cards.

Well the official model is kind of dull. And there aren't any normal bricks in this set at all. The minifigure selection is pretty poor too. Though I guess there is a good deal of playability to it...

I was pleased that Lego released the Pirates cards, and wish I would have had the knowledge in the past to pick up a deck (or two) of these. They look pretty neat, and am sure would be fun to play with. I can only hope Lego continues to produce decks of playing cards for various themes, especially castle, in the future.
