Dragon Knights Battle Pack = SOLD OUT
Dragon Knights Battle Pack = SOLD OUT
I was confronted with this depressing sight half an hour ago:
http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.as ... n=640&d=70
I was going to make a purchase but will hold back till they get restocked. Wonder when that will be?
On a positive note, at least we know they're selling well!

Re: Dragon Knights Battle Pack = SOLD OUT
Wow! I'm shocked. People love their Dragon Knights I guess.
On another note, all the sets in general are on the Top 25 best selling products. Good to see!

Re: Dragon Knights Battle Pack = SOLD OUT
Makes sense the dragon knights battle pack is selling well since all the kingdom sets lack dragon knight numbers.
I was pretty sure i saw a few of the kingdom sets on back order a couple days ago.. But most are in stock now.

Re: Dragon Knights Battle Pack = SOLD OUT
Last week we went to our local LEGO retail store, and we noticed the same thing-- the Dragon Knights were sold out, but the Lion Knights were still sitting there in droves. We went again last night, and now ALL THE CASTLE SETS were gone, except for a bunch of Medieval Market Villages, some keychains, and a few of the impulse jester sets. Everything else was wiped clean. I was in awe.
It's funny, of course, because I (like apparently many others out there) was interested in buying more of the Dragon Knights packs, but I wasn't all that interested in the Lion Knights. Guess that's a pretty common sentiment!

Re: Dragon Knights Battle Pack = SOLD OUT
Darn. I was going to go buy some of the Dragon Knights battle packs simple for the torsos and shields, but now I don't think that's possible.
Well, I guess I'll just have to BrickLink them or hope for a Dragon Kingdom impulse set to arrive in 2011.

Re: Dragon Knights Battle Pack = SOLD OUT
It may be sold out right now, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do another production run of them. Considering Kingdoms has only been out a couple of months and we haven't even hit the Christmas season yet, I would be really surprised if these are totally sold out for good. I think it would be extremely foolish of Lego not to do another production run to make these available again in the fall for the Christmas rush, especially if they've sold this well already. I wouldn't get too worried yet, battlepacks are a bit different than the collectible mini-figs.

Re: Dragon Knights Battle Pack = SOLD OUT
I'm not sure how the sales numbers from one LEGO store can prove your hypothesis that Dragon Knights are more popular than Lion Knights. It could be that people buying Lion Knights are getting their sets from Toys R Us or Target. It could also be that the customers that bought out the Lion Knight sets at the LEGO store couldn't get to the store until after the Dragon Knight sets were bought out. It could be that LEGO only sent 20 Dragon Knight battle packs vs 30 Lion Knight battle packs to the store for expample.davee123 wrote:Last week we went to our local LEGO retail store, and we noticed the same thing-- the Dragon Knights were sold out, but the Lion Knights were still sitting there in droves. Point is, unless all (or a majority of the) LEGO stores in the USA are like yours its hard to believe your idea that Dragon Knights are "out-selling" Lion Knights. If you had sales totals for all of the USA with the same result, then it could well be. I used to live near a LEGO store and if I still was there I would have bought more Lion Knights along with other LEGO stuff.

Re: Dragon Knights Battle Pack = SOLD OUT
That would be a pretty premature conclusion, if that's all I was reacting to. But if you read further up the thread-- you'll see the bigger reason to draw that conclusion. I came to that conclusion only when it was noted that that they were sold out on LEGO's website. LEGO's site has a much wider audience, and is a better indicator of popularity than my local store. The fact that my local store sold out at almost exactly the same time seems to agree with the conclusion (but is a less useful indicator independently), and the fact that I personally was thinking the same thing (IE that I like the Dragon Knights better) is the worst indicator of all, but is also in agreement.Tower of Iron Will wrote:I'm not sure how the sales numbers from one LEGO store can prove your hypothesis that Dragon Knights are more popular than Lion Knights.
Anyway, I thought it interesting to note that the trend from LEGO's website was seen in LEGO retail, so I posted. And if other people are seeing the same thing at their local brand retail stores, I'm hoping other people might be encouraged to post similarly, to see if the trend is further spread.

Re: Dragon Knights Battle Pack = SOLD OUT
I am buying all the new sets nut I am sending all the lion Knight's straight to ebay. The dragon knights on the other hand ate imo the coolest knights to date so its no surprise to me that they are selling out fast.
Re: Dragon Knights Battle Pack = SOLD OUT
Looks like the Lion Knight battle pack is also sold out:

Re: Dragon Knights Battle Pack = SOLD OUT
I personally dont like the dragon knights as much as the lion knights, but it stinks that the lion knights are sold out too
Re: Dragon Knights Battle Pack = SOLD OUT
Bleh. They don't even have the best dragon knight torso (the scalloped cowl one in Prison Tower Rescue).

Re: Dragon Knights Battle Pack = SOLD OUT
Lego is hard enough to come by where I live in Tennessee at the best of times. Thankfully, I bought the last King's Castle set at TRU the other day. They were all out of the impulse jester and wizard, which was rather depressing.
