Where are the Castle Legends?????

Post by tuscani »

Hey Guys, maybe this belongs in general Lego discussion, but to me that is trivial. Where are the new Legends Lego has promised for soo soo long, be it a lego legend, lego classic, lego hard to find, THERE ARE NO GOOD CASTLE sets to be found?? Surely someone here knows someone on the inside and can give an update? WHAT RUMORS are you hearing out there? (Timeline/Sets ETC..) I am also a HUGE Pirates fan, and again no Legends/Classics/Hard To Find sets there either...

Whats on the horizon?!

The latest LEGO Legend was "Hot Rod" a modelteam set. Although people like Jake McKee said we would get more legends in 2004, they did not say which themes would recieve legends.

My guess is that because castle already recieved two legends and one MOC set, and because there is a new castle line out, we will not get another castle Legend for a while. This is just a guess, but it makes sense not to compete against your current castle product.

It should be a Space legend next since that is the only theme that hasn't had one yet.
*crosses fingers for Galaxy Commander* :D

Yeah, cause the Legend would win, even in an unfair competition ;)

Hey, I may like KKII cause it's castle and I personally like the new knights, but I'd buy the BFF and Guarded Inn (and Blacksmith's shop inspite it's non-LEGEND status) over KKII on ANY day ending with 'y'.

Jake said a while back (I think at a Brickfest Q&A), the licenses did not play a part in returning Castle or Space.
However, there was a "veiled" reference to Lego putting
out sets to compete with another theme.

So, with that in mind...

that might have something to do with the "sudden"
disappearance of Blacksea Barracuda and the
Legend & MOC Castle sets (Guarded Inn, Black Falcon
Fortress, and Blacksmith Shop).

Knights Kingdom II replaced the "Classic" Castle sets
and the upcoming 4+ Pirates replaced the Baracuda.

The Exclusives might have been hot sellers, but I don't
think Lego would be THAT short-sighted to only produce
a "small" run.

The Guarded Inn and Blacksmith Shop have been around
for a while...so there shouldn't be too hard feelings about
that.

Both the BFF and the BSB lasted less than a year....???
Also, we still have Main Street even with the new line-up
of World City sets. ...very puzzling...

maybe it goes to show you how train-centric the whole
LEGO organization is, not that it is totally bad, but
supporting Train at the expense of other themes is
bad KARMA.

just some stuff to think about...

Okay, so we can't have any more Castle Legends, I can live with that.

*Blows nose, wipes tears, starts to whimper*

However, I would really like a nice, Castle-use Legend.

Like more pirates.

I'm also VERY fond of Space, so some of those would be great.

Heck, I'd like ANY legend.

I don't anticipate a castle legend soon, either. I'm hoping that a Classic Space set will be announced soon, perhaps at Brickfest (fingers crossed for a Galaxy Explorer).

BFF and BSB came out in Fall 2002, and they were available all through 2003 and a little bit into 2004. That was more than a year.

I also recall the BFF being backordered on S@H a good portion of the time that it was available.

The Adventurers are rather new,so I wouldn't get my hopes up. :) I believe they premiered in 1998,right?Everything else (legends)seems much older.
