What do you think the worst Castle mini-fig is before 1990?

Post by Sir Terrance »

Again, I have another worst of the best question.
I would have to say the Forestmen with black, since the other colors like red, yellow, and blue look a lot better.

The forestman with black
You mean the one in 6066

That's just about my favorite castle fig, just like the black spaceman is my favorite space fig :D

Haven't got the forest guy (yet), but I've got an imitation of it :)

I think the blue one with the brown hat and the big yellow plume is alot worse, probably the worst castle fig IMO.

It's in the 6077. I think it's bad because:

- Brown hat. Looks like a fallen leaf.
- Plume doesn't match torso
- Big plume on forestman hat :x
Whatever you do, don't.

Okay....

This is a BIT easier. I mean, only a few of the pre-1990 figs were actually great.

But because of their genericness, there was nothing wrong with them. And unfamiliar as I am with them, I can't really say.

Eeny, Meeny, Miney, Mo, I choose....

(wait for it!)

The Crusader soldier from that 1989 set, the one riding the barding horse.

Why?

I dunno, maybe I just don't like soldiers riding bardinged horses.

Can't really say, because they are all equally good in their "I'm a generic soldier" roles.

I'm going to say the minifig in the armor shop because I always thought it was a girl, and then somebody told me it was a squire with shoulder length hair, and now I don't know.

I vote for this 1984 fig:

Why? I just can't stand the combination of red arms on blue torso. The choice of legs is also quite poor.

Alan!!!

Do you realize that you are insulting HENRY!!!!

I mean, that HIS torso, down to the red arms.

This is worse for your reputation than the Megabloks fiasco.

You are all crazy, there were no bad minfigs before 1990. There was the occasional bad leg/torso combination, but that was easily remedied. The plain brestplate was probably the worst torso of the pre-1990 ers, but there was no such thing as a bad minfig.

Let's rephrase the question then:

What was the least best of the pre-1990s?

Well....I was just going to select the "printed breastplate" figure, but yeah, "Henry" adds a mish-mosh of colors to the mix, so he gets the nod for worst fig. :D

You know you're a good person when you see megablocks and have to do things you would rather not.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the black forestmen with the black plume the rarest one? (other than the forestwoman)

I think the least good minifig before 1990 is:

It just doesn't look good.

I have an immense dislike for the white maiden from the "maiden's cart" set.

The colours are too plain and she lacks a dress-piece. I have a white maiden's had and would prefer one in another colour! (Black knight collector speaking.)

Concerning the breastplate torso, it is great for everyone else who cannot afford/do not have 100s of euro armour.

I'm going to have to agree with this one... it's just not a very attractive color combination.
Also, I don't like the maiden that comes with the Guarded Inn. I think that even with the necklaces, the torso is too plain. The hat is nice, but I hate Lego women with the plain smiley.
