A Sad, sad day for Castle

Hopefully there is some piece of information we don't know.

But I will hold true to the cause of Classic Castle - I will continue to build and display, and try to hold fast until things turn our way again.

But until that happens, today will be known as the Day Castle Died.

That doesn't necessery signifiate that Lego Castle died. We should separate bionicle than Castle. That's 2 differents things.

Making Knights bionicle, doesn't signifiate that Lego will not make Lego Castle again. That's different

It's 2 completely differents series.

Hello!

You know it, I know it. Hopefully TLC knows it, too.

We will see what they come up with in the second half of 2004. The hope dies last.

Bye
Jojo

*holds his hat in front of his chest mournfully, in the background a trumpet softly plays taps. The flags in his castle are all lowered to half mast.*

This is a very sad day. I do not think that lego will make a new castle line though. Look how bionicle gutted the technic line.

I do hope that Lego will soon realize their mistake though. Castle, Space, and Town are the cornerstones of what we see today. Space is still going strong, town seems to be undergoing a new birth, but now castle seems to be taken away from us.

This is a sad, sad day

I dedicate this parody song to Castle theme......

Bye bye Mr. Medieval Guy

"A long long time ago
I can still remember how that castle used to make me
smile
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those minifigs dance
And maybe they'd be happy for a while

Did you write the Idea Books
And do you have faith in how you moc looks
If the Lego Magazine tells you so
Do you believe in archers with bows
Can you arrange them in perfect rows
And can you tell me how much MegaBloks blows

Well, I know that you're playing with Bionicle
'Cause I saw you throw away a Belville popsicle
You started feeling sad and blue
When that Toa carried a strain of Flu

I was an AFOL with a minifig of Brandybuck
then saw Bionicastle and said what the ****?!
But I knew I was out of luck
The day the castle died

I started singin'..

{Refrain}
Bye-bye, Mr. Medieval guy
rode the cavalry to the levee
But the levee was dry
And them good old knights were drinkin' mead and rye
Singin' this'll be the day that castle die
This'll be the day that castle die

I met a girl who sang the blues
And I asked her for some happy news
But she just smiled and turned away
I went down to the sacred Lego store
Where I've bought bricks years before
And the man there agreed that Bionicastle was soo **y

And in the streets the children screamed
Castle fans cried, and the AFOLs dreamed
But not a word was spoken
The church MOC, all were broken
And the three sites that I vist most
BrickLink, Classic-Castle, and LUGnet where I post
They discussed how theme will be toast
The day the castle died

And they started singin'..
{Refrain 2 times}"

As a castle fan for 23 years, it saddens me that the only retail castle stuff I will buy this year is Magablocks. I will still buy the Star Wars redesigns as I never purchased any of the sets the first time around, but I have decided to boycot all other Lego themes.

Even Harry Potter, we never see any decent sales around here and none of those sets is worth half the retail price they are charging for them.

If I wasn't such a Star Wars fan, I wouldn't even buy those. Nope, I will bricklink my part orders and maybe even sell off some of my armies.

Unless something happens soon, I will fall into another dark ages. Just as the castle community seems to be waking up, they give us a bunch of sleeping pills.

Good job TLC, I mean really great job. Your loosing some of your best and loyal customers, because of a 'fun and exciting' "Action series." Great job you <SOMEONE needs to take a chill pill>!
Your really done it.

How do you sleep at night TLC! How do you sleep!

I also agree that this is a sad day for the LEGO castle community. It will be very interesting to see how they classify these sets. If they call them "SYSTEM" or "CASTLE" I think I will puke. This stuff belongs instead in a new category called "Junk with perhaps a very few useful parts and a whole lot of crap".

Don't punish yourself for TLC's downfalls. Keep your hobby alive. TLC isn't the end-all be-all. Bricklink, Little Armory, TLC accesory packs, and stickers can help you keep your army growing. Granted, it isn't the best, but it is some way to keep the theme alive. To quote from a poster on LUGNET (can't remember who) "Castle is only what you make it". Build on! Think of those wonderful minifigures whose lives you would be ending by quiting. Perhaps they really are alive...

Devari - Thank you. I will definately be trying to
get more castle accessories out there as soon as I can.
Though I started with SW stuff, my first Lego love was
castle.

It's not over yet.

First off, Jojo, very cool pic in your sig, caused me to laugh out loud! JPinoy, cool song, very creative. I just logged on and this is the first post I went to so I will look around to see exactly what you are talking about.
Good job TLC, I mean really great job. Your loosing some of your best and loyal customers, because of a 'fun and exciting' "Action series." Great job you <edit>!
Dragon Master you are obviously empassioned about this whole subject, but it is not helpful, nor respectful to address TLC like this. I understand your disappointment, as I am sure all others do here as well. I am not picking on you, just asking you to reflect a bit if the shoe was on the other foot.

But the reall problem we all have is this, we are addicted to the brick and Castle figs, weapons etc. Perhaps you can relate to this; sometimes when I am on the net or in a store I get almost like Gollum. "I wants it, I NEEDS it, MY PRECIOUSSSSS!!!

Truth be told, the only thing we can do is write and appeal to TLC. Ranting, whining, cursing, buying MB in protest will not change things. Maybe nothing we do will bring back Castle (if indeed it is gone) But let us enjoy what we have, keep building and sharing with others here. It's supposed to be fun

A Chapter seems to have ended in Lego history. Castle, a line that started in 1979 and since then has been a dominent force in the Lego company's history has died. While many may vow never to have dealings with the Lego Company again, we must not abandon somthing we have treasured for over two decades. Oh castle fans do not give up! Continue to make awe inspiring MOCs, continue to build, continue to hope! Lego may have failed us this time, but is that any reason to give up entirely? We must stand firm and show the world that Castle still lives! Even worse than the news that castle has died is the news that your faith in Lego has died! Why settle for inferior substitues such as "Megablocks" when one can continue to build creations that can surpass anything Lego, Magablocks, of any other company can put together! Friends, whatever you do, do not let the legacy of castle wain! We will preserve in the end no matter what trials and hardships lie before us.

Never, NEVER, NEVER lose faith in Lego.

I don't even know what to say, we have to do something, maybe get the monkeys that are running TLC back to the zoo, I don't know.

Just a question: Do you think Legos going to bury castle or cremate it?
