Join the weekly Classic Castle set review discussion. Please post your opinions on the set play ability, piece selection, design, etc. Which sets stand up to our catapult of critique and which ones crumble in shame!

This week’s set is 6152 Snow White’s Cottage.

Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest of them all? Snow White’s Cottage was released in 2012 for the Duplo Disney Princess line.

Snow White cleans the dwarf's cottage with the help of her animal friends. She must avoid the bowl of red apples to prevent the evil queen's sleeping death. Various elements are included such as a printed bird brick, bunny, chairs, flowers, and a fence.

DUPLO for the win! I just wish that some of these sets had come out back when I was buying all my DUPLO. The Disney Princess ones are fun, and the pink cupcake set looks awesome. And you think I'm just going along with an April Fool's joke, but the joke's on you! I love DUPLO! Come all, and join my flickr group:

http://www.flickr.com/groups/legoduplo/

And be sure to add all your DUPLO creations. DUPLO used to have a great castle line. Josh's daughter made a sweet, super-tall DUPLO castle tower for BrickCon last year. I can't find a picture at the moment, but I know I do have one on my hard disk somewhere.

Also, flickr got me for about ten seconds with its April Fool's joke. And then I realized. I always forget it's April somewhere while it's still March here. But I digress. And this is not really going off-topic, because the whole topic is.... well, you know. ;-D

Edited to add: so there are strawberries printed on the plate in the above photo. I guess that's better than stickers, but would it hurt to have an actual 3-D strawberry piece? When my kids make their grocery store, we have such a weird mix of actual food pieces and food that's just printed on a brick. (I know, I know, it's for price purposes and all that, but I so much prefer having an actual bit of fake food, instead of just a printing.)

It comes with a blue flower, a pink flower, and a bunny. I think I could find a way to fit that bunny into nearly all of my castle mocs. This is a must have! Easily 5/5.

And who doesn't need a giant bunny?

I'll have to disagree with you guys on this one. When this came out this was probably the only Duplo set I missed out on, and I am glad I did. The colours are all wrong, mostly LURP's and BURP's. I mean the dwarves didn't live in a cottage, doesn't capture the scene from the movie at all!

I also think that Snow White could've turned out a lot better, I mean I don't think she looks fairest of them all. The only good piece in this set is the bunny, which could be used for recreating Monty Python Holy Grail scene.

Design 0/5
Pieces 1/5
Build 0/5
Originality 0/5

Overall 0.5/5 Turned out to be a terible set that could've been a must have for this line.

The fig is a fleshie, so that loses points in my books. Completely incompatible with the rest of my castle figs, which are standard yellow. More's the pity, as I have some MOCs that are crying out for a good Snow White fig. I'll have to pass on this one. :(

Why all the hate? This is one of the most movie accurate sets since liscensing began, it even comes with her pet bunny. With the new Lotr sets coming out this summer, Snow White will fit right in with all the fleshies. Plus, the bunny is only available in one other set. I bet this set will even bring some people out of their dark ages, it is just so good!

My daughter got this set for an early birthday present. When the day of her party came, another friend had also brought this gift. She said "I already have this one". I think that says it all.

I kept wondering why the backwards writing, and why this set? And then I realized it played right into the whole "Mirror, mirror" theme. Clever. ;)
