Castle parts in Legends of Chima

Post by Bentoft »

What do you think about the Legends of Chima sets? Are there any useful castle parts?

I find them fairly useless for castley pieces(IMO Ninjago had a LOT more good castley pieces) unless you plan on making animal kingdoms.
I plan on buying a few Eagles and Ravens sets though, so I'll have to think up something useful for 'em.

Yeah I don't know. All the sets seem to be vehicles. There are a few weapons and armor pieces that could be used but I'm not sure that they would be worth it. The wolf one might be interesting. and the Crocodile bodies might be useful as alternate orc bodies but in general I'd say no.

Some of the figures are really cool if you want to make a fantasy race, but it doesn't seem practical to buy the Chima sets for castle use.

Some of the new weapons and armor could certainly be lifted for Castle. For more fantasy related things, it's a gold mine. I really like the purple wings found on 70012, for example.

I really like the Were-wolf-like tribe from Chima though, especially this one:

I think that for the most part, it's going to be difficult lifting useful pieces from them (small amount of greys, browns, tans, greens), but in my opinion, it does depend on what you're looking to build.

I too really like the wolves and want to get some. Sadly they come in some of the larger sets.

some of the minifigs would be great for fantasy stuff, but otherwise there's really not much in the way of parts(the ripcord things have some nice vegetation, but for 15 bucks, its not worth it).

Yeah, I saw the small raven set and wasn't that impressed. I think it's a little to sci-fiy for me, mostly because of the vehicles they have. I think the minifigs and accessories look cool, maybe not quite worth a whole set, but there's bricklink for that.

Nothing wrong with adding some anthropomorphic Lions, Wolves, Eagles, Ravens, Crocodiles, and other animals (soon) into your Fantasy LEGO Castle Kingdom!

Personally, I think the wings from either the Eagles or Ravens would be a good addition to Polish Hussars.
