I've never heard of this series (of course, that was about when I was born...), and I couldn't see the pic you posted. It said "Folder not Found". Is there something wrong with the link, maybe?

Hmm... definitely not dissimilar. The similarities are certainly intriguing. I wouldn't say that Lego based it on them, but there might have been some influence. Still, let's hope KK2 lasts longer than this series did. KK2 might be terrible, but I don't think losing it will give us better Castle sets.

When i was younger i had some of the action figures but never saw the cartoons. When Yaron linked some of us to the site i suddenly saw the resemblance.
Yarons theory is that some of the lego designers grew up thinking thats what knights were supposed to be like, and werent taught any better.
Thats a good theory I think.
Maybe next year we'll get more bad guys to even things out. :D

Even the armor matches, look at the Mega-Knights Lego put out this year and they match even more! Very disturbing indeed.

I'm old enough to remember this cartoon and I even had the action figures. They were 4" scale. Bigger than Gi-Joes, but smaller than the Toy Biz Marvel characters from the mid-90's. I am surprised I didn't make the connection between Visianaries and KKII. The similarities are a little eerie.

This is strange - and disturbing.

I rally don't know what else to say. I just don't like the idea of Lego designs possibly being modeled on failed, whacked out cartoons.
