8779 - Best castle set ever!!!

Post by Webrain »

OK I just received my 8779 - yes yes I bought it after everything I ever said about that set.

And...

- Yeah it's looks ridiculous - Knights on wheels - blah!
- Yeah most of the parts are useless - a lot of bulks - yak
- Yeah the shileds are cardboard - do we consider it LEGO at all???
- Yeah the combination of cyan and dark red is horrified
- Yeah the flags which are the decents parts of this set is printed both sides with differnet pattern - yeah TLC are cheap

So please someone tell me why? why? I can't stop playing with that set

P.S. Anybody has a spare kid I can borrow? I really need some1 to play with ....

You could have younger brother if you're willing to pay for shipping. I've got four I can give away....

So this set is actually playable?

You're serious?

If so, it's good to know it has a redeeming feature. Not that it matters to me. I dismantle all sets almost immediately these days.

This is what happens when Lego is not easily available in Israel and instead there's masses of clone bricks like Shifty-Brick. *shudders*

Someone get this guy a 6086, the cure-all for all infectius brick diseases. It cures:
-Syphi-Belvillelus
-Staph Galidorium
-Clikit-itis
-Jack Stoneus
-H.I.KK2 (Human Immuno-deficiancy Knights Kingdom 2)
-C.B.T.D.s (clone brick transmitted disease)

Well the flags, lances, horse helms, crown,Vladek,Jayko, and any pieces that aren't a new color or white are useful...and Jayko's is only cool because he looks kind of like me...

What's wrong if irod likes The Grand Tournament...it's his opinion and as CCer's it should be respected...

I'm actually gonna hafta agree with the poster above. I know that about 80% of CCers here are lovers of the ancient days and I too enjoyed all of the past sets, well the ones i was old enough to play with.

I however am starting to enjoy the KK2 a bit. Now many people will say they're useless and crappy, but think of it this way. Lego has decided to give Castle another shot, its been about what? 3yrs since the last real Lego Castle series of KK1. They're getting a bit better at it and so we should see whats up.

I for one like the Knights. Santis looks grumpy the way I'd imagine a super strong guy to look like. Danju looks like the Wise-experienced elder. Rascus has that smirk on his face and Jayko, well I just love his helm and I like the blue and his bronze sword.

We just needa see each side and accept everything good and bad, because at least it means Castle is still around. Also I like the octagon shields. Only huge gripe i have with KK2 is the lack of soldiers and just too much knight oriented.
Dreams are only unrealized realities.

Wake me up when the set is 50% off or greater - maybe I'll think about getting one then. But I do think there will be fans of KK2.

Actually, it is kind of fun and addictive to make the knights crash together. I know that it is a terrible set, should be burned in megablocksland, and has pieces suspiciously sited to building bad catapults. But its got to count for something if you can sit there and launch them together, for, like, an hour. :D :D

Sir Vincent and Draygen:

Yaron is a good friend of ours, and if he likes the new sets no biggie. but as a friend we are entitled - nay even obligated - to give him some ribbing over it.

I laughed out loud when I read this  And I agree with your diagnosis Dr. Freak. He may also need to be treated with classic light grey, prophylactically, lest he becomes infected with those bleys as well.

That's exactly the point: It's fun for, like, an hour. And after that hour the knights are supposed to drive home or what? What's a knight worth if he doesn't have a horse? TLC simply overemphasizes the short-term playvalue and their own simplistic story lines rather than to offer figs and parts for free building and playing that's based on the child's (or AFOL's) own imagination.
