Oh I just meant that it helped the price of the Legolas figs on resale market stay inexpensive compared to what I think the Laketown guard is going to go for.

Anyway, whoever gets their Laketown polys first, post a picture!

A couple months from now I fully expect Laketown guards to be going for @ $6 on BL.

Me and my brother just picked up copies of Dol Goldur battle, Lake town chase and Dol Goldur ambush from toys r us! :D anyway I built lake town and the big Dol Goldur sets so far. I really like them both. I got all of them for exactly the expected prices of $70, $50 and $20 and they all seem worthwhile. Lots of great pieces in the big Dol Goldur especially, even a bunch of new ones. :)

Yeah, he looks really cool! I wouldn't mind getting a couple of those for some diversity.

Hey guys...this thread is for discussion of the sets, not sales prices or customizing. Please stay on topic. Thanks.

They had all but the biggest one at K-Mart on Friday. I passed on them all.

Those LG's are nice. I have four that are supposed to be here Monday. I can see these guys fetching a nice penny down the road ($9-10 USD range).

However, in discussing the set itself, it looks like the Laketown Guard polybag is made to fully mesh in with the LG large $50 USD set. The little armory he comes with seems a perfect mesh with the larger set itself. You could probably build the big set, with a bunch of these little ones, and have a little barracks of sorts for all of your guards! I would love it if someone could build the large set, then the polybag, and put them together to see how they look.

I see the bow and arrow and the spear in the set, so there is a nice selection of weaponry (although the brown with gray spear tip would have been much more epic!). I am, however, a little miffed to see yet another catapult (albeit one of a somewhat different construction in the base). Hasn't TLG given us enough of these catapults yet? I realize they add to the playability, but there are so many already!

I agree with Schmidt one hundred percent. The exclusion of the rubber tipped spear is a bit of a disappointment, considering all of the other LOTR sets have had that spear to this point. The catapult is nice, but not very interesting to most of us.

I'm glad I ordered some, but I don't see it as being as great of a polybag as the Mirkwood elf was.

My four polybags came in. I agree with you AK; in no way, shape, or form is this polybag as nice as Mirkwood Elf. Granted, having extra figs that are only available in a $50 set is nice, but still a little lackluster. This set really needed that spear.

I love that rubber tip spear. I'm really disappointed we havent seen it used more often in the hobbit, castle, etc.

Well the chick with zero inclination to buy any of these sets caved and bought two today. Why?

Well the dark brown warg...I must have. So yes, I bought the Mirkwood Elf Army. And if you know me, you can wake up from your faint now. :P

And I bought the Lake Town Chase...the pirate in me just couldn't let it sit on the shelf.

Which...gave me some free poster that I haven't unrolled yet. But I'm going to assume it is a hobbit lego poster. I guess there are perks to going to the LEGO store to buy such sets.

And I got the free holiday box for pab too.

So over all...this was a pleasant shopping experience...especially since I went to a very much girly girl store before. :halo:

Once I build them, I will have more comments to make. But I think my new sigfig should have a pet dark brown warg, for chomping at will...kind of like my pet shark at the Cove.

Building set one...the Mirkwood Army one. I have a beef! Why does the chick elf have the same face as all the other elves? How are you supposed to know she's the chick elf? This makes for a meh.

Wow, I didn't even realize there was a chick elf in that set.
