However I don't think the accessories are "pointless" so to speak. The accessories give the battle packs playability, which is something TLG's target market desires. We may not be as interested in the playability features, but I can assure you, kids are.
And TLG must think these will sell good, or else I don't think they would have ever been produced. I do plan on getting some, but as I have stated before, I am one of the exceptions around here. I really love these two factions and want as many as possible. While the Lion pack has much more variety, I am quite fond of the dragon pack as well. I am army building the figures, and the breastplate and black knight helm that come in the dragon pack are a welcome bonus. Their prices have dropped considerably on bricklink, but for the longest time they were expensive.
I agree with you Schmidt, one more fig would have been better but I am looking forward to the treasure in the Lion's pack, I have yet to get any gold bars
I am also beginning to become an exception as well as I've been growing quite fond of the figs and am working on increasing my armies of both
