Vladek's Attack Kit popular?!

Postby Troy T. Moore » Tue Sep 28, 2004 6:23 am

Yesterday I was cruising around S@H. I have had the Attack Kit on my wish list since it became available, as I wanted to get one for each of my kids for Christmas. I was shocked when it said it was backordered until the 17th of November. I was going to wait until "free shipping" was offered which usually happens in the fall on orders of $100 or more. But with that for a backorder date I ordered right away. I get a free Lego truck though :? I also ordered 4 8777's as they are scarce here. So who bought all the attck kits? Was it a test to see how well it would sell? It seems from reading on BZpower that the Bionicle fans have taken to the KK2 big "knights" (almost hurts when I call them that) and that the system sets are gaining appeal because of the connection.

I don't know, but the lady at my local toystore said to me that the KK2 sets, including the big knights, are very popular.

I've noticed the Vladek Attack kit being on backorder until October and then it slipped into November. I'm hoping the free shipping will start in October and I will order then. I just fear that the VAK might be backordered until next year if I wait too much longer.

Yeah, it looks popular. The last time I noticed a set being backordered so much on S@H was when Black Falcon's Fortress was re-released.

I suppose the fact that you get 5 minifigs in a $30 set makes this one stand out in the KK2 line.

I've also noticed that the knight cannisters have been selling pretty quickly at ShopKo. I would say that they are probably selling faster than the minifig sets. Maybe KK2 will draw some Bionicle fans into minifig scale lego. That would be nice if it ultimately leads towards TLC having a strong enough castle fan base that they can start moving towards something a bit more mature and realistic.

Right now you can get the Vladek's Attack Kit at TRU. They are in twin packs and sell for 39.99. I don't understand this because there's a sticker on front saying you save 25%. If the sets sell for 19.99 each and together they sell for 39.99, where's the 25% savings? :?

Think about it. These are little kids. Little kids get very impatient easily, and it has been four years, FOUR WHOLE YEARS! since the last Castle line. Of course it's backordered! :D

As soon as it is released over here...I am buying as many as I can...I'm making a Shadow Knight army...and this is the best Shadow Knight army builder...plus it has the least amount of flaws out of any of the other KK2 sets...

Umm.. because it is CASTLE! The people buy what they can.. we think they suck because we compare them to Classic Castle - but LEGO Castle, even lame LEGO Castle, is still very popular. The people want it! They can't get enough!

Imagine if they brought back Classic Castle! They'd sell out everything, because that is what people REALLY want!

Of course it's popular!
It's actually a good set. Think about it:
You get a cool siege tower, and a (although small) wall. It's everything you need for playing.

That and the fact that the other KKII sets pretty much sucks makes it popular!

Ther is also the matter of this being the KKII set that shows most resembles to the classic castel sets, could it be that the classics are better than the new ones?!''

I also don't understand the 25% savings. I couldn't wait until november to get this kit though...so I just purchased the pack for $39.99, I guess TRU is making $10 profit. Very good set over all, I would understand why it was backordered. It's all about the minifigs :D

I'm glad that the set is selling. I hope the sales show TLC that castle always has been and always will be a popular theme and that the popularity of KK2 sets might give TLC incentive to make other castle lines.

Or it will make them think"Hey, it's selling like water in desert.
We should keep them, and put an end to the almost finished plan of making re-releases of castle stuff and new sets like it."
Think about it.

I am scared that TLC will get the wrong idea thinking that we like these sets because they're KK2.

I only like the sets in comparison to the other ones.
