Got the green knight and the faun. The knight is impressive! But don't get the troll-like tooth. The heraldry on the shield is a bit off. I wish they would have taken the opportunity to do a classic historic-style design. The box was well picked over, but found no less than three knights. Guess it was because they weren't as bulky as the queen, or ones with animals or armor.

IMO this is one of the better series LEGO has produced in a while.

Cracked open a case last night.

Quite pleased with it all. It seems like they went the extra mile with new molds in this set. Quick thoughts on each:

1. Farmer - No new parts, but still great due to the pitchfork and pig. Scarecrow hat in a new color, but too plain without printing.

2. Spaceman - CS fans will love the flag. Face printing is usable in any theme. Not a fan of the suit printing, unfortunately.

3. Knight - Dude looks brutal! I love the body/legs print, the mace, and the shoulder spikes. Not sure about that goofy tooth on the face. The red shield seems out of place - perhaps he took it from a defeated foe?

4. Injured guy - Safely comical, and the cast is a nice touch. The crutches and bandage are both new parts. Unfortunately, the figure is a bit of a novelty, not something I would collect in multiples.

5. Tribal Woman - Great printing on feather, face, torso, legs, and baby. I don't collect the Wild West theme, but worth it for the baby.

6. Winged Warrior - This figure is cool, but I don't know what to do with it. Seems like they were trying to use up some Chima parts. Might be useful in a mythological / fantasy setting, a Flash Gordon build, or as a statue. Great torso/leg printing, and the helmet is new.

7. Satyr - Awesome mythology / fantasy figure that was very well done. New legs, new headgear, great printing all around.

8. Ranger - Another figure with two new parts! I love everything about this: The outfit, the skunk, net, and face. Don't need multiples, but everything aside from the shirt could be used in many themes.

9. Janitor - Awesome new mop! Great design overall, fills another needed role in a city building. Necessary for a Smells Like Teen Spirit vignette.

10. Ballerina - This figure is wonderfully designed, from the silver shoes/laces to the unexpected new skirt piece. People are going to want either one of these for the novelty or something like a dozen to create a ballet MOC. Need one in black...

11. Mech - Third attempt at this, but I think it is the best looking result. Torso printing beneath the armor is awesome. Great for many sci-fi settings.

12. Kendo - I don't collect oriental/samurai themes, but the wooden swords are a nice inclusion and all of the printing looks good.

13. Shark Suit - I also don't care much for the animal suits, so I just get one of each for the novelty. It looks like TLC is responding to their general popularity by making this a common figure rather than a rare.

14. Wrestler - It's the Ultimate Warrior, which is awesome. Aside from the trophy and mullet, everything is pretty specific and difficult to use elsewhere. Nice for the novelty, but not something I want in multiples.

15. Thief - Basically an unlicensed, and therefore yellow, version of Black Widow. Really cool figure, but nothing special about the parts.

16. Queen - Great new skirt piece, wonderful printing, cloth cape and fur, and the calamity drone hair in a new color. Every castle fan should own one.

Personal favorites:

1. Satyr (#7) - They really nailed the design here. I would like to own many of these.

2. Mech (#11) - Maybe I'm weird, but I've built mini armies of the two previous mech designs, and I want a several of these as well.

3. Knight (#3) - A group of these guys with those maces would be very intimidating.

4. Queen (#16) - Highlight of the set, but not needed in multiples.

5. Ballerina (#10) - I just think this figure is really really cool.

That's funny - I was just looking at this yesterday... I would love to pick and choose... but your review actually will help me decide if this is worth the purchase of the figs or not.. thanks!

The Knight is my favorite... I'm still not sure if it's worth the price... hmm

Tough to say whether or not something is worth buying since everybody values items (and their money) differently. I plan to buy a few more Satyrs, Knights, and Mechs at $4 each, but there are several figures I wouldn't want to buy at full retail price.

My thoughts exactly on this figure. I actually saw a photo on Flickr recently where a novice customizer had removed just that tooth printing, and the head looked excellent as a result!
I agree with you on the heraldry. This wonderful new shield piece deserves some quality, researched emblazonment. I hope they become more widely available so I won't have qualms about painting one!

That sounds about right to me! I went to Target looking for them, but the entire display was cleaned out!! :o Must be a hot item

Ordered some of these from Bricklink, very keen to mix them up and try some new fig combos in a moc sometime.

This is actually how I feel about a lot of the figs I've gotten in recent years. Seems like you'd need a fairly specialised collection to make any kind of building suiting a guy like that Winged Warrior.

The new knight is a great figure. When I first saw him I almost thought that I was looking at a Brickforge model.

As a builder who incorporates a lot of fantasy elements, I have found that taking the wings off, this figure works well for a High Elf warrior. The armor bears a certain resemblance to the uniforms of the Aldmeri Dominion from The Elder Scrolls.
