My first reaction as I opened the box and emptied it was one of disgust as
one would go to the city and see trash about the alley.
What did I see loose in the box but 5 Jack Stone base bricks and the 2
new one-piece castle walls. The walls I can somewhat overlook, but
Jack Stone???
Building the set wasn't that bad after that initial reaction. I could see
rationalize why the set designers included them after all.
I had an incorrect color piece in the set, a 1x2 plate was in black, when
it should have been Light Grey (Stone).
The water plate is too pastel looking...poor choice, in my opinion.
The draw bridge and monster "modules" were a bit flat and boring for
me. I loved, however, the vines. I had Santos climb them "hollywood"
(as in just his person and his helmet). Then I had him climb the
vines with his breast plate (sorry Rascus), and then finally, I put his
shield on the "pole" and had him go up. It took several attempts but
I thought this was pretty fun.
Overall, compared to putting together the "Luner Lander" set, I thought
building the Citidel was much inferior and not as much fun.
The Lunar Lander was much more fun and really a pleasure to build....
due to a lack of juniorization.
Anyways, that's my opinion.

I got this set for my birthday and I must say that I am impressed. True, it's not so much a model as it is a playset, but it was fun to build and I might just have to steal a few ideas from it. I love the boulder/drawbridge feature, and it works much better than I expected it to. The vine-climbing wall was also pretty impressive.
I love the fact that there is an underground area, complete with rocks and a skull. There's not much to this area, but it does give the set a lot of character.
I am annoyed that the only way to get to the tower is by climbing the vines, but that's common in LEGO sets. Also the snake thing, while cool, seemed kind of pointless.
All in all, though, I'm glad I got this set. I now have all 4 of the knights, except for Rascus with armor.

Is it worth full price. I'd like to get it, as it is the only one I don't have yet. And I'd like to get the old guy and another Shadow Knight, but not sure if I want to spend $50 on it. (If it had the old greys, I'd have boughten it by now.)

Well, it does give you a good selection of figures and accessories, lots of black plates, plant pieces (3 leaves on a 1*1 round brick... there are about 15, I think) and lots of new grey bricks (mainly 2*2 and 2-high 1*2). It was also a pretty fun build. I can't say I would have paid 50 dollars for it though. Luckily, I didn't have to... my parents bought it for me.Athos wrote:Is it worth full price.
