One of my first castle sets. It's what Lego is about: making a nice little scene with a small assortment of pieces. And the blacksmith is sooooo cool.

This is one of the few sets in which real medieval life is portrayed, something I wish we had seen more of. Aside from the rare pieces, the concept of this set is unique as well. It may be small, but very cool. 9/10

This set was visible off in the background on a flyer from around 1985-1986, but the set name and number were not mentioned. It had caught my attention, and not knowing it's name made it seem mysterious to me.

Anyway, I like it. It is the first civilian castle set, and it was an important part of making the modular wall idea work. The design is very simple and elegant. The parts included are useful for anybody who wants to build their own modular wall sections. I also hear that it was only about $6.

This is a good set.

Well let's see. IT has two men about 5-10 accesories, a horse, some walls. I will generously give it a 6.5/10 then and a 9-10/10 now.

A nice little set that is one of the more practical Lion sets... And it comes with a pitchfork and a black hood (No one can resist those) The only weird thing is, what to do with one wheel without an axle? A great li'l set, I'll give it a healthy 9/10.

It came with two wheels and two of the black plates with axle pins. The picture that is being used here only shows one axle plate but the set did come with two.

Actually the picture even shows two of each. Well, it not exactly *shows* them, alas! Bad light conditions, sorry!
The second wheel is attached to the left side of the forge.

Back in those days they didn't leave their customers (us) with uneven numbers of necessarily paired parts.

This is a great set if only for its simplicity of design and ease of attachement. This is a set you could build a whole lot around without ruining it, unlike many of the new sets... Simple but creativity enhancing 9/10.

God Bless,

I have a soft spot for hoods (cowls), plus the extra set of instructions really adds to the playability (you already have two scenes for an adventure!)

This is the one (post-yellow castle era) Castle set that I'm missing, or can't replicate with my spare parts (blasted brown cape).

That cape is the one missing piece...

I like this set alot but not one I have. Neat idea. Wish Castle line made some smallish sets like this and the armoury one still.

I was still in my dark age when this came out. I am pretty sure it wasn't for sale. I have always wanted this set. It has a simplicity to it and its from one of the great era's of Castle. This set came out before a good deal of you were even born.

10/10
