This set is fantastic. I really need to rebuild it and get a brown cape

Oh man, this set is amazing and rivals even the great Lego Blacksmith Shop by Daniel Siskind.

How could it rival the great Lego Blacksmith Shop by Daniel Siskind you ask? Well I think the answer is fairly simple. In fact I think the answer is simplicity in itself.

When the great Lego Blacksmith Shop by Daniel Siskind was released how long ago and for what price?

And this set was released in 84 and probably cost what $8 or so? So how many of these could you buy and what could you build for the same price?

I dunno. I just love this set and I want one. I want several.

It was an alright set. As a kid I was more interested in the sets that would allow battles, seiges and such, but now I look at it an think, hey it is a nice little shop. As someone else said, it is a little simple, but through nostalgia we think life was simpler back then, even if it wasn't.

I don't own it but i love the set! i give it a 9/10.

I totally agree with Josh. I love this set. It's a perfect example of a small, civilian set. Any kid with a decent allowance could buy one like this. The modularity, gives it a nice castle expansion aspect, and if combined with other small sets would give kids alot of options. In my humble opinion LEGO should produce alot more like this!

I love the brown cape, it's one of my favorite parts. I picked up a couple of these on eBay for decent prices. The pitchfork, tall red double convex slopes, and most certainly the brown cape make this a veritable necessity for classic castle lovers.

If this set weren't so difficult and... pricey to get my hands on... I'd snatch it up in an instant. It's very unique and I lie how it has the places where you can connect it to another Castle Wall. I think all/most of the Legoland Castle sets were designed like this, very ingenious idea...

I think is a good example of how to work civilan style sets into Lego. The castle wall makes it useful for any castle collector while also providing the peaceful task some builders would like.

i got that one a few months ago and it's standing right in front of me. it is indeed pretty simple, but exactly that's what i love about the old sets. i also like the modular design, so it can be attached to the bigger crusaders castle. i hope sometime i'll get all the sets that are compatible with that to build a classic castle town

cool set its always good to have a blacksmith. i like the pieces too.

this is just an ok set for the figs and rare pieces

It comes with some good minifigs and I like the blacksmith's hood, they make good archer hoods.

One of my top three favourite sets ever. Great fig in the smith, and lots of useful parts such as the red chimney slopes and the pitchfork.

Also check out the alternates on the back of the box, great stuff.
