Blank KK2 Shield w/ Official Stickers!
Blank KK2 Shield w/ Official Stickers!
I don't know if this has been brought up / discoverd, but today I purchased a couple of Vladek Encounter's while in Target (impulse buy). When I got home & opened the first package 2 sets of octagon shield stickers (official LEGO) fell out.

The included shield was blank.

I have never seen the likes of these before. Even stranger yet, the second package I opened had the standard Danju shield. Anyway, as I mentioned, this is a first for me. I have purchased quite a few of these & this is the only sticker & blank shield I have.
Just thought I would share.

I thought about the oddity of not getting the shield for Vladek in that set, then I actually tried to give him a new shield along with the barding and chamfron and I figured out why - it doesn't fit very well with everything attached while mounted. Though it could just be simply skimping.Formendacil wrote:Sweet!
Maybe they were getting complaints about Vladek not having a shield, and decided to remedy the situation, not by including another shield, OH NO!, but by giving the buyer the option?
Wierd, all the same.
The choose your own approach is interesting - what a throughback, though.

Ugh... I think its a sign that Lego is getting cheaper. Rather than print the shield pattern they just let us sticker it instead. I hope that these stickers will have stronger adhesives than the stickers on the Lego soccer players.

That is strange. I just bought one of these sets and it came with the standard printed shield. Sound like you got something unusual.

This is...interesting...sounds like the printing machine went haywire and they had to substitute with stickers...I have a feeling this a isolated event, but then, who knows?

It only proves that TLC is so bankrupt they are trying to cut back everything they can. Of course giving stickers to them is much more easier then priniting since this way they can use the same standard brick. I hate the idea of stickers, and it even worse when it on more then on one brick
As for the shields, if it's going to be like this I glad that I have at least one of each printed. If I'll have to glue stickers on them, I'd probably make ones of my own (or use Anthony, LF ones instead) since those drawings are ridiculous anyway.
