Matter of opinion, I guess... I COULD see the chrome armour used for PJ Gondorians, but I (as just about everyone here ought to be able to predict) don't really care for the movies as my source of inspiration. I see the Gondorians in light of how the book describes them: as a sober, noble race (hence, I would use black or dark grey helms/armour over chrome for most), and somewhat "fallen" from the great days of old (hence the chrome of Ar-Pharazon becomes the dark grey of Denethor).
I would probably do something like the chrome armor, a dark grey helm, and the rest of the soldier's garb black(possibly even a black cloak). This would give them a somber feel, as well as a glimpse of the height from which they have fallen. But, as you said, it's a matter of opinion.

I do think that Vladek(KK2:1 version) has great armor for minions of Sauron. Black, with what could be a red eye on it. I put it on my orc-chieftan.

How can somebody post where they think TLC needs to improve if we can only post what we like?

Ah well, here is what I like:

I like the big black doors in the ugly bley and violet non-modular wall set.

I like the chains on the siege tower's unreachable bridge.

I like that two bardings are available and one is in an overpriced small set.

I like that I can let physics and gravity determine the outcome of my jousts instead of having to use my imagination.

I like the hanging cage on the odd looking shadow knight set.

I like how there are two huge holes in the front of Vladek's castle so the good guys will have a place to land their siege tower.

I like the genius behind the shadow knight's saw blade launchers - opposing siege weapons are made of wood. What better way to destroy them than with saw blades?

I like how Vladek appears to be constipated. Hopefully there is an "evil" privy in his new castle.

Hey Rougue: I must say I got some laughs out of your post. And I don't care if someone posts where they think TLC could improve. I just don;t like it when people say what they don't like and keep going on about it and then don't say HOW tlc can improve upon these weak spots.

One thing aobut the horses with wheels is that now kids can have a joust WITHOUT slamming two guys on a horses against eachother.( my siblings and I did it that wya when we were younger.) My younger isters LOVE the horses on wheels and that's what TLC wanted. They were aiming at YOUNGER children.

can you just picture that?
err...I hate to spoil your fun, but I am 99% certain that is not chrome euro armor but chrome armor that came in this set and others:

Ok, now to what I like about KK2:1

Green euro armor (elves, elite Forestmen)
Red euro armor (barbarians)
Tri sword in broze (really! I think it looks cool dispite it's shape)
Big black doors
Octogon shields
All the dark red parts (my preciousssssssssssssssssss)
Vladek's helm is actually kinda cool
All the minifigs heads save for Vladek
Dark red horse barding and helmet
The inclusion of oriental spears
And of course the uber cool Shadow Knights!

KK2:2

Return of the tri shields!
Horse helmet in green
More dark red parts
Cool Shadow Knight banners
RedBrown BURPs
All the weapons
The return of the rock-printed Ninja slopes
Chrome armor and Shadow Knight helm
Black pillars
Dark stone saddles
Brick build scorpion
Shadow Knight in cheap set
Shadow Knights in all sets, sometimes in twos and threes!

Personally I'm not too hyped about the horses, but that's because I have a ton of them anyway...

Fudge! In my last post here I thought it was KK1 and KK2. LOL ^_^

Well I like KK2:2 because it has more shadow knights and the chrome euro armor and helmet. The triangle shields are nice too.

More than likely you are correct, but if you take a close look at the detail pics it sure seems like it has the leg protectors, but this could be the wistful dreams of a fevered imagination... HOWEVER, didja notice that Vladek now has dark red armor? That's something else again.. :D

I'm going to have to agree with LEGOFREAK. I think that the leg armor can clearly be seen in this pic: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/docto ... 8877-1.jpg
It's impossible to tell on the guys in the towers, but you can see them on the one on the wall (The guy with the circle and the arrow pointing to him).

They are really bad, really fuzzy photos, but based on the set pictures, they seem to be "euro" armor, not Pirates Imperial Armada breastplates. Of course, clearer pictures may make their exact identity apparent, and perhaps the final product will have one or the other regardless of the photo.

On the good side, I'd have to say the chrome euro armor would be great. I won't sneer at the Pirates breastplate, but I prefer it on my Conquistadors and Napoleonic Cuirassiers.

You might be right...I do detect the leg armor... *hopes and prays*

The other two knights, though, I am certain have the other armor...just look at the way it is rounded.

Maybe this third Shadow Knight is uber-special, since it also appears his axe is chrome too!

This is one big KK2 set I am gonna buy!

I don't want to go off-topic too much, but...

Chrome parts require separate molds from regular parts. What they do is make a slightly smaller mold and then add a coating of chrome stuff to make it the same size as a regular part. (ie, the chrome silver 2x4 brick is smaller than a 2x4 brick, but after the coating of chrome is added it becomes the same size.

Now, the chrome armors in the past had no leg protectors because they are thin and would be nonexistent if made thinner for the chroming process. That is why the chrome armors do not have leg protectors.

HOWEVER...

TLC said that they aren't going to do many (if any) chrome parts the old way anymore. They have a new technique for just molding the whole part chrome now, but I believe it is a slightly different looking chrome than we are used to, but now they can use the same molds for chrome and non-chrome parts - and they could, if they wanted to, make chrome euro armors now.

I think it's regular euro armor in the picture.
