Vikings or Rogue Knights?

Hmmm... just speculating/wondering if the Vikings are a separate theme or if Lego modelled the Rogue Knights after the Vikings.

If Lego is trying to make Morcia as a kind of Gondor, and the Moorlands are a kind Mordor... perhaps these Vikings/Rogue Knights are the "Rohan" of Lego, but with ships.

It makes sense, the Rogue Knights were banished from Morcia, and the only place to live outside of Morcia and the Moorlands would be somewhere really far off that you need ships to reach it. Besides, how much more "rogue" can you get than being a Viking.

But then, I could be wrong.....

But why have 2 simultaneous Castle themes? Unless those "Vikings" are actually Rogue Knights.

Yeah, they may have ships, but they did attack medieval villages and Castles once they got off their Longboats.

I really wonder if they could fit in in the KKII story, does'nt it have all the carachters it needs? I mean, what are they going to bring to the story?
Will they attack the land and make Vladek and Mathias join forces?

It sounds more likely to me that this is a new line on the pirate side, wich is good of course! Let's just hope that they can hold up the high level of realism that the old pirate line had.

About the Rogue Knights, according to the KK2 story, back when there was a corrupt King (King Malachi or something like that) some of the knights who served under him rebelled due to his corrupt ways, while other knights stayed loyal to the king despite his far from the Code ways and battled the rebellious knights. Having "broken the code of loyalty to the king", the rebellious knights who were defeated were banished from Morcia, thus becoming the Rogue Knights.

Anyhow, if the Vikings are the new Pirates theme... assuming we won't have an actual Pirates line that can't double as a secondary Castle theme... then thats good to see Pirates make a come back.

I still feel they need to do an Arabic style Castle theme, and a Chinese/Japanese pirates theme. That would be interesting... especially since you still have pirates in the South China Sea to this day... :P

JP,

I really think that if this were a continuation of the KKII line it would somewhere be labeled "Knight's Kingdom" or "Rogue Knights" which is nowhere to be found as of yet.

I really think that this is intended to be the new minifg scale pirate line. I think we will see something along the lines of "good" vikings and "evil" vikings.

I don't think LEGO will suffer at all from having two castle lines though, I mean the profits are still going to the same place.

Maybe there is a chance that there will only be this one limited edition set, released by TLC to appease the AFOL community. I mean we CCers have been aking for Vikings since pratically day one!

I read somewhere that lego is making a special series for their 50th anniversary or something.

Can't be Adventurers because you need to have Johnny Thunder in it.
