New CLEAR Viking pics

Post by JPinoy »

I know the pics are on EuroBricks, but I think it would serve us CCers better if they had their own pic thread in OUR forums.

Edit: The images are now in my BrickShelf gallery under the name LegoVikings2005. I gave credit to the EuroBricks source of course. ;)

See, Minifigs just as I've said! :P
The name of the set in the pic is:
7018 The Viking ship dares the Midgårdsnake

Yeesh, no wonder they had a huge balista on the longboat...

Here's the others.

7019 The Viking fortress against Fafner the dragon
http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Elite ... 5/7019.jpg

7017 The Viking catapult against Nidhögg the dragon
http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Elite ... 5/7017.jpg

7016 The Vikingboat against Kraken
http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Elite ... 5/7016.jpg

7015 The Viking Challanges the FenrisWolf
http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Elite ... 5/7015.jpg

Images which are too large have been changed to links by admins. Please follow the ToS and do not post images larger than 400x300 pixels in the forums. Thanks.

Look at it this way. We don't have to go to EuroBricks forums to see the pics. Its faster this way to have the pics on our own forums. Plus the pics themselves deserve their own thread.

I'll save and transfer the pics to my own BrickShelf gallery.

I would and I will, but this site specializes in all things Lego Castle.

As far as Im concerned regardless of official statements, I regard Vikings as Castle. That way, we Castleheads can say that Castle owns.

Ok, lemme explain you. Eurobricks is actually my website... We get the pics from people who wanted us to have those. There are reasons for this. So, if you want to use those pics, you should first ask me or any other administrator of our website.
This is how things has to be done
The only website who can in some ways pass over this are the website mentionned as "friends" of eurobricks. Classic castle has not requested this yet

Just joined your site. I transferred the pics to BrickShelf as that site tends to be more dependable and stable than most image hosting sites, especially those of Lego stuff, that I know of.

Apologies.

PS: I joined using my most commonly used name of "Peoples_General". I joined CC long before I came up with the Peoples_General name.

Comments:

1. Two shield styles. One seemingly for decoration, such as hanging on the sides of ships and fortresses. The 3x3 Radar dish isn't quite right for a Viking shield, but that's okay since they seem to have some very good specific ones for the figs to carry (round, flat, bossed, with cool designs), though they seem to be in somewhat short supply across the sets.

2. Two axes. I know people are saying it is a modifiable axe (and it is, in a sense), but note that the axe heads are different. The double-bitted axe has double flared blades, and the single-bitted axe is a "bearded" style. Both are a bit too large for my tastes (I'll probably keep making my own danish axe conversions) but I think these will most make people happy.

3. Two helmets. Looks like a nasal helm ("flaired" helm without camail) with horns that I can thankfully leave off, and a form of "spectacle" helm (see guard in tower with "Mjolnir" - who also appears to have chromed euro armor).

4. I spoke about wanting a wooden fortress moments before I actually realized there were pictures. Got my wish! It's not the fortress design itself, but all the "wood" parts to build with.

5. Dragon. Well heck, it's cooler than the standard black and green ones from Castle.

6. Midgard Wyrm. Funky but cool at the same time.

7. Viking longboat. Thank you, LEGO, thank you!

8. Can't quite figure out how the beards will look. Still not sharp enough detail.

9. Small boat. Blarg - just a large rowboat with window dressing. Oh well.

All in all, I'm actually excited for once!

Looking at those beards, I think they're a new form of "cloth neckgear" as they would be listed at BrickLink. Its likely its made of a cloth ring which will connect to the neck portion and the "beard" part being made of some fuzzy fiber piece. If this is what its made out of, its way better than the old beard piece. You can put them on top of an armor piece.

Classic-Castle is very interested in being friends with Eurobricks. Where do we request such a friendship?
