Join the weekly Classic Castle set review discussion. Please post your opinions on the set play ability, piece selection, design, etc. Which sets stand up to our catapult of critique and which ones crumble in shame!

This week’s set is 4806 Axe Cart.

Axe Cart was released in 2000 for the Bulls. This siege cart has two halberds at one end. A highly armed Bull's soldier is included with various accessories.

I'd hate to be the poor KK1 soldier who didn't sidestep that thing coming at him at 5 mph.

Boo. 1/10

Great army-builder. Unfortunately, I cannot say that from my own experience, as I only have one, and "an army of one" doesn't quite fit the context.

Other than the fig and weapons (and cheap prices), it's a bit of a stretch to see any great value in this set. The design is somewhat ridiculous. I'm glad that they actually bulked up those little one-man attack thingys, but this looks too heavy for the lonely little fig to move. As for the pieces that make it up, well, they're okay, but nothing particularly useful.

Parts: 6/10
Playability: 5/10
Figs/Accessories: 7.5/10
Design (contemporary): 5.5/10
Design (universal): 5/10
Nostalgia: 7/10

Overall Score: 6/10 (C-)

Ha ha ha.... good point.

Well, in my quest to get every little set ever made, I accidentally bought 3 of these. I was annoyed at the time, but since then, I wish I had more. I actually like the bulls, gray eyes and all. ;-)

The design, of course, is silly, but it's a nice fig.

7/10

Hmm, my opinion is half and half.

Piece wise its great. Three weapons, a shield and a cool fig, plus two wheels, what more could you ask for in a small set.

However the design, which baffels me, is more than bordering on insane. I mean, what is it supposed to do? Is it a anti-calvary weapon? A footman's doom? A mini battering ram? Quite frankly I can't see what it is. Plus, I very much doubt that one man could push it and make any great impact on anything. Not a great design.

I bought eight of them primarily for the wheels when they were on S@H for something like $2.40 each. Kinda wish I had gotten more.

The set design, however, is utter trash. It's ugly and makes no sense at all. It is nice that it's a $3 set with a good assortment of parts and a minifig.

Let's rate this thing:

Parts: 8
Design: 1
Playability: 3 - you'd have to buy a minifig pack to have enough guys to push this thing fast enough to be useful.

Overall: 2

Nice little army builder. I wish I'd picked up some more, as I'd like to create a rampaging horde of bulls to ravage the countryside. I also like the wheels they used for the bull sets.

Why can't it be all three? This could be the most technologically advanced weapon the bulls have!

Anyway, as was said earlier, the wheels in this set are great. I even tried to steal the ones from my brother's copy once.... The minifig is cool, and he comes with a lot of weapons. And I'll bet that if he ran downhill, he could get that thing to work pretty great

a good source of those heavy wheels (good for realy heavy siege engines), and a lot of extra weapons, if you need crossbows and hallbarts wich i do not, and the fig is nice, the helmet though is crap.
A great army builder...
I dit not buy any of these and as a result i only have one of those bull bandits, pity.

the design itself may not be good but you get good wheels, and a fully armed soldeir amoung other things
As an army builder set, id give it an 8/10 ( if the price were right)

Hello!

Actually I don't know what I'd possibly say about that set except "I don't like it." It's boring, blatantly unrealistic and ugly. Not even the always winning criterion "armybuilder" is able to convince me.
