That is sooo great! I was trying to be brave with that chess set comment before but now that I know they won’t be glued, thank you!’*wipe forehead in relief* don’t get me wrong I do love chess, but I’ve already got a chess set that I’m fond of.

Now I have to get as many of these sets as I can and a glued together black and white base plate could come in handy.

That is good news...

I Have a request to whoever gets this set, too...

could you give some shots of the "white" side? I'm REALLY curious to see what the king, queen and pawns for Morcia look like!

Sorry, I know it's a little rude to do bold, but I have a feeling this post will soon be buried beneath many others. Just hope someone notices it. ;-)
Knight Templar
n. pl. Knights Templars or Knights Templar
1.A member of an order of knights founded about 1118 to protect pilgrims in the Holy Land during the Second Crusade.

Hey Ottoatm,

Jojo has ordered a set, so I'm sure that when he gets it he'll post photos.

Right Jojo? :D

SWWEEEEEETTTTTTT!!!!
TLC is amazing. AFOL's have been asking for larger minifig sets for a long time. TLC has not only done so, but found a way to either incorporate a larger consumer base or simply give another reason for such a set. Chess or army builder. My choice would be for an army builder, however, I think that is what will be great about the set. I wonder how long it will take for these sets to be sold out after they are released. What does everyone think, one or two days?
Danke Jojo. Du bist mein Held(i think that's worded correctly, lol)!

P.S. thanks to the other two gentlemen as well, i could not remember my plural wording so I chose to thank one of you, lol.

Warning... This post can look like a rant like seen a certain way...

Once upon a time... I was a lurker spacer. But after some changes in it's direction, I ... was turned off of the space theme. I can proudly say that, if i can buy this set, I will. Even if I have to beg for food for the rest of my life.

THANK YOU TLC FOR THIS SET!

... Sorry if this post annoyed you...

Not to rain on the parade or anything, but I am admittedly still disappointed in the fact that the board is glued. I just don't understand the desire to do that, short of making it "look good" in the packaging. And hey, if this is only available online or in a catalog, you don't even NEED it to look good since it won't be on shelves. But mostly I'd just love to have a white 32x32 baseplate!

I am MUCH happier to learn that the figs are unglued at least. They are by far more important than a glued board. Think this'll be the most cost-effective source of Shadow Knights? I guess the cheapest source otherwise looks like it's gonna be 8873, with 1 Shadow Knight at $9 reportedly. So unless the chess set is more than $70, I think it'll be the cheapest source! (Short of that little polybag set, but that doesn't count since it's got the normal flared helmet, not the cool SK helm).

Hello!

Yeah, it's a pity that they glue the baseplate. However, I can see why they are doing it. This game is meant for "at home or on the go" as they say on the S@H webpage. So on the back seat in a car, the board holding on their knees it's likely the kids would break the 4×4 plates off the baseplate because a baseplate is quite wabbly...

Bye

I am going against all of my beliefs (Lego-wise, anyway), but I actually like having a glued board. It would look pretty great in a castle if you built walls and pillars and stuff. Add the right lighting with that, and you could have something really cool-looking. Of course, you could do this without the glue, but it's easier than looking for the individual 4x4's, even with an excellent sorting system. Perhaps it's just the lack of sleep talking, but I really like that board.

I plan on buying at least two of these. When I showed my dad, (who is NOT into Lego at all), he also said he wanted one! So, in total, I hope to have at least three in my home... one will just be for chess!

Yay! Thanks, lady! (Especially for that link -- you know how lazy I am!) *uses his stick with the piece of gum on the end to pick up the nacho that just fell on the floor.) Whoa, I think I need a nap now. :D
Castles are kinda' like big, non-electrical stone spaceships that don't fly. Plus, you can stick your head out the window and breathe, and your eyeballs won't explode.

Sweet! Pity it isn't $30, that would be UBER-SWEET!

So, now that the glue scare is over, what does everything think of the set now that we know only the board is glued and it's price is $50?

I'll be getting one really soon, and probably more later when I have more cash...

There's always gotta be one... ;)

24 figs for $50, thats $2 a minifig. That's practically standard Bricklink price for figs of any value.

Shadow Knights alone sell for $5-$8 each on Bricklink.

AND you get all the other stuff - bricks in the 8 other pieces, weapons, and the glued board.

Still sound bad?

$50 seems pretty reasonable to me.

Forgive him Jake, my friend is but a moron ;)

That's so cool that it's not glued! 50 bucks is kinda pricey, and I was hoping to save lots of money before the vikings came out, but this looks too good to pass up...

Hey! You were the one who started the Glue rumor in the first place! :P

$50 is reasonable, to be sure, and it's not going to deter me from buying it. All I was say was that $30 would be even more awesome (though very unlikely).

I'm just waiting for Jojo's review before making my order.

How hum. Well I am glad that it isn't glue. VERY glad in fact. $70 bucks is a bit pricy. I envy you Euro and American dollar spenders. Its gonna take me ages to raise $70. Oh well. At least its not glued.
