The torso is the reedeming feature. Peasant fig, as others have mentioned, is my use for this
That's true, good point. I had forgotten about that. It is the perfect peasant fig, which is not easy to come by in LEGO sets. For that reason, the set gets a few more points than I would have normally thought to give it.

Yup, peasant/blue forestman torso. Actually very few of my wizard figs are left as wizards - most have been converted to peasants. That's one of the reasons I rated this higher than most - stick a black hood and lose the beard (drafted to my dwarves) and hat and I'm all set.

I like the cart design. It's simple and clean. Good for a peasant or tradesman. I didn't buy many sets during this period, so I don't have many wizards. The beard is useful and the cart parts, so I would buy this set if I saw it in the store today.

This set is a very good addition for enhancement of your castle kingdom, very useful, and I must say that its playability is probably 9/10.
I saw numerous times that the bird was referred to as a parrot. I must clear this misunderstanding up - it's NOT a grey parrot, but a CROW or a RAVEN. Can you really imagine a wizard that lives in a land of fir and pine trees to possess a parrot, needless to say a grey one?! Also, traditionally, ravens were associated with wizards and witches.

I always loved the Majisto fig. He was the first minifig to have:

- A name ( )
- A pointy hat
- A beard
- A magic wand
- A scroll
- A magic power

So overall, I like this set. The cart is nice. I still remember that funny pic on the back of the box, showing Majisto sleeping, with the hat turned around so that you couldn't see his eyes. :D

10/10 (I'm feeling generous today)

When I found this set I was in college and my cash for LEGO was quite dear. There were many large sets I had to carefully save and plan out purchases, Priority at that time was Pirate, Castle, Space... Polybags and small boxed sets made interesting characters or filler sets for the spaces between saving. Majisto the Wizard was and is to this day my favorite of all the smallest LEGO sets ever made. Everything was exciting about this set, especially on a budget. I'll never forget bringing him home and adding him to my dresser-top display. The best sets need not be the most expensive at times.

While I didn't need another wizard, the torso and wheels are nice. I'm fond of the old poly bags sets this one included.

I like the set. I'm fairly new to the LEGO Castle theme sets, and as such, I don't have a wizard-type minifig in my collection yet. Once I've gotten my 7093 Skeleton Tower and and 852293 Castle Giant Chess Set, I'll have two Good Wizards and two Evil Wizards, so this set may be a bit less appealing then. For now, I do see the value of the wheels and torso piece and I wouldn't mind having another treasure chest (maybe I'll send a couple soldiers to the Dwarves' Mine to trade some chicken legs for some gold ore and gems to go in it). I'm not so fond of the bird, though. I'd prefer an owl, like what comes with 5614 The Good Wizard. I think my favorite part of this set is the magic wand. Definitely. It's just a simple set, though, and it's fairly well done. I give it a 6.5/10.

I liked this set!
i was quite young when i got this set. and this was my first wisard so i was so exited! I played with it for hours! the chest was alsow kind of unusual for me, i didn't have that many chests.
personally I loved it! it's one of the few sets i remeber getting as a child!
but I can se why older guys here dont really like it, for people with much lego, the set is not so good, nothin special!
but for a kid, a wisard with a white beard, it was AWSOME! that wisard helped my knights win every single battle!!

I was finishing up college at the time this came out, so it comes as no suprize that I missed this set. I am probably one of a small minority that can use multiples of wizard figures, as they form Magic "schools." I also like to have some of the more powerful (larger) factions have a group of wizards as a group of advisors that help in the defense of their respective countries. Wizards, whether male or female, human or not are a great part of my LEGOverse and I am glad that LEGO started making them and hope for more in the future.

I am sorry that I missed this set but thanks to Bricklink have a school of "Blue" wizards. Good set. 9/10.

Looks like a great little set! Definately a classic fig.

Milita-builder! The torso style is my favorite, of the older ones at least.

But also, I really like Majisto as a fig (and I did as a kid when he was released to) so as a set it is very nice to. As an addition to the castle-fauna back then, when there were only "generic" figs, he as a "character" was fantastic, and with a set like this he is a very easy to bring into your exisiting legoverse. He just comes wandering in...
(with that said, I never got this set :P but had the Magic Shop instead)

Pretty not so great, I don't like the overall uselessness of all the parts, but the torso makes another peasant for my villages though
And magisto, what would classic era be without him?

Figure is good. If you pop off the arms and replace them with a different color, you can make a large variety of peasants.
