Let me add to my vote, that I would switch my first place vote to whichever Forestman set was leading (as I suspect many others would).

I wanna see the King's Castle back in action. There were about 3 big castles that I missed, before I got my first ever large castle 6086.

I voted for the camouflaged outpost because I don't have this set and it looks cool in my opinion.

I voted for the Outpost as that is an awesome set and I have very fond memories of buying this in the little local toy store. Also more forestmen are always good.

I voted for the King's Castle, since it's the one I always wanted when I was a child. To me, it's what Lego Castle is all about. The Forestmen's Crossing would be second, (I'd love to have the forestwomen), followed by the Camouflaged Outpost, Knight's Challenge, Armor Shop, and Battering Ram.

I hope all of them eventually make it to "legend status."

I chose Camoflauged Outpost for the leading contender!

I voted for Camouflaged Outpost. Really, could I have voted any other way?

I do think it is a shame that the Forestmen votes had to be split by having two sets in the poll. Pesky Crossing. Anyway, I chose Outpost over Crossing because it's a much better set.

The Crossing is only valuable because of a few rare parts, and those parts would no longer be rare if the set was re-released. Thus, the thing that was special about the set would be gone. The Outpost has no rare parts. In fact, it's parts selection is about as ordinary as a Castle set can get, aside from the new (at the time) forestmen caps and foliage parts. The Outpost's value lies in the fact that it is a well-designed hideout with plenty of useful parts, plenty of minifigs, and a good price. The Crossing is too wide-open and artificial looking.

The Outpost awakened my imagination and got me into Castle LEGO when it began the Forestmen sub-theme. The Crossing simply made me say, "This has some neat parts."

Well, I had to get in on this one.

So First: "King's"
Second: "Crossing"
Third: "Shop"
Fourth: Outpost
Fifth: "Ram"
Sixth: "Challenge"

The three-fourths-but-not-quite-three-fourths baseplates of "King's" are very handy, and the number of minifigs is awesome.

"Crossing" is really fun to play with, as I recall, from back when I still did that... As well as a nice baseplate and good design.

Of course, this probably isn't the best poll for me, seeing how I haven't seen the outpost or tounament in person. I really need to get my pieces together and build the outpost I 'spose. Luckily, I guess, I can figure out what the tournament is like from the pictures.

Allow me to differ with this analysis. I don't care if the valuable parts in the Crossing set would become less valuable. I just like the set as it is - it is has nothing to do with the value of the parts. However, if this was actually a vote before LEGO, I would campaign to have just one forestmen set on the list, and I'd happily vote for the Camouflaged Outpost if that was the one. Personally, I view the vote as Forestmen beating 6080 at the moment.

There's no right way to run a poll like this, though. Replace 6071 with another legitimate contender in 6086, and watch the vote change radically. I suppose the best thing to do would have been a runoff between 6080, 6086, and 6085 (sorry, the Yellow Castle got stomped in the original official LEGO poll, but heck, throw it in, too); the two forestmen set in the own poll; a modular wall-plug in set poll; and a stand-alone medium non-castle set (6030, 6057, 6060 for example). Then the winners can have a showdown with no overlap messing up the finale.

But it ain't my poll, and I'm just part of the peanut gallery. 8)

Please do. I often tend to come off very strong when stating my opinion, but I am aware that it is just my opinion and that everybody has one.

I don't care if the valuable parts in the Crossing set would become less valuable. I just like the set as it is - it is has nothing to do with the value of the parts.
Oh, I don't care if the value of a few of my parts goes down. I am saying that I perceive the appeal of the Crossing being so high simply because of the few rare parts, and I think that is the wrong reason to want a set re-released. Same deal with Knight's Challenge. Most people would probably be at least as happy with a minifig pack containing the figs and accessories from Challenge.

The Crossing is a good set, but it is the weakest of the four Forestmen structures. I believe that a child who had no idea that specific parts were rare would get more value from Outpost than Crossing after you factor in alternate models and everything. Evidence of the sway caused by the forest maiden is even seen in the first post of this thread where the "Bad" for Outpost was: Bley, and no Maid Marian figure. Huh? That could be listed as a negative for every LEGO set that is not 6071. And they're all going to be bley if they were originally grey. The fact that the author couldn't come up with a real negative shows how strong 6066 really is.

However, if this was actually a vote before LEGO, I would campaign to have just one forestmen set on the list, and I'd happily vote for the Camouflaged Outpost if that was the one. Personally, I view the vote as Forestmen beating 6080 at the moment.

I do believe Crossing being in the poll is just stealing votes from Outpost. However, if the Outpost was gone, I would vote for Kings before Crossing. I also believe 6086 would stomp everything else if it was in the poll, and who's to say that Battering Ram and Armor Shop aren't currently stealing votes from King's Castle?

Each item added to a poll is going to have some impact on the other items in a poll. Even LEGO's own poll split the castle votes between BFF and Yellow Castle.

If, in a hypothetical situation, LEGO would really re-produce one set that the Classic-Castle people could agree upon, I think a poll would have to be set up that lists every Castle set and lets each person vote for five of them. Then have a showdown with the top 5-10 sets from that poll. However, I don't think that can even be done with the poll system the fourm uses.

...and it's not like it matters. This poll isn't going to LEGO and it's just being done for fun.

6080 definitely, since i can link it to 10000 and 10039. its going to be spectacular display, with finally a big main castle in the setup after having a fortress and a inn beside it. it will be sweet~ (",)

EDIT: I can't change my vote on the poll, but I've changed my mind and am going with the River Crossing. I overlooked certain things in it before, like the baseplate, brown ladder, and the forest babe.
I wanted to vote for the camouflaged outpost, but accidentally chose the river crossing set :D
So, that makes it even :D

Definitely a Forestmen set, Outpost first, river crossing second. I don't need a bley legend, and forestmen are my favorites.

Same deal with Knight's Challenge. Most people would probably be at least as happy with a minifig pack containing the figs and accessories from Challenge.
I do not agree. Knight's Challenge is the best joust set that LEGO has made. Perhaps you just prefer built structures to be the main focus of a set. In that case a joust obviously will not be your favorite.
The Crossing is a good set, but it is the weakest of the four Forestmen structures. I believe that a child who had no idea that specific parts were rare would get more value from Outpost than Crossing after you factor in alternate models and everything.
I agree. The other large forestmen sets are better. Still the crossing has a good piece selection and is far better than most current sets.
The fact that the author couldn't come up with a real negative shows how strong 6066 really is.
This is true but there are other sets on the poll that do not have real negatives either, like 6080.
...and it's not like it matters. This poll isn't going to LEGO and it's just being done for fun.
It is for fun but the admins are able to show polls such as this to LEGO so they can get feedback on what sets fans are interested in.
I also believe 6086 would stomp everything else if it was in the poll
I strongly disagree. 6086 is a strong contender but as there are so many castle sets, I made this poll of legend sets ending at 1990. Anything afterwards is more in the "Classics" range (with the possible exception of 6086). 6086 is the favorite of many of the more vocal posters at CC but that does not mean it is the favorite of everyone here.
who's to say that Battering Ram and Armor Shop aren't currently stealing votes from King's Castle?
They could be. But some people genuinely like specific sets. For example, Lenny likes Armor Shop the best out of these sets because of its design and it is the first castle set he recieved. The whole point is to show that many of these sets would be good legends. Even if Battering Ram was made into a legend, I imagine most members would buy it.
