This week’s set is 851542 Knight's Kingdom Magnet Pack.

Knight's Kingdom Magnet Pack was released in 2005. This pack was sold exclusively at LEGO stores. It contains the 2005 versions of King Mathias, Vladek, Jayko, Rascus, Santis, and Danju along with their swords and shields. Each minifigure has magnets glued in their legs and torsos. The legs are glued to the torsos but all other pieces such as heads and helmets can be removed.

Hmm.... I haven't seen this one yet. I guess it's the closest thing to a minifig pack we've had lately, other than the chess set! It also looks like the cheapest way to get all the helms, armors, and shields in the 2005 line.

I'm not sure I'd like to see those Jellybeans on my fridge, though....

There were also 3 fig packs in 2004 with that year's knights. A 6 magnet pack in 2004 had majisto with a grey beard, king mathias, and various town figs. The magnets figures are very cool. I also really like the packaging which lets you see the figures or display them unopened.

I picked up one of these when LEGOLand had a 20% off sale. I used it just for the accessories, discarding the bodies. For me, it was a cheap way of getting the stuff I wanted out of the new KK2 line.

My brother got this for Christmas, and even though he doesn't really like KKII, he liked these. I think my mom picked it up at the Lego store in Portland (or Tigerd?) OR. The legs are seperate and move, and the magnets are such that they don't interfere with 'playability'. Also all peices come off except the torso from the legs.

I like that the figs legs can move, and I don't know the price, but can see how it could be good for pieces. I am really looking forward tot he new sets, and hope TLG gives us something closer to a minifig pack-- like the real thing? Since that's all I really want out of them anyways. Depending on price this could be a neat set.

Too bad they didn't sell this pack with the normal figs included... I can't really discover a reason, try as I might, for anyone to want all of the figs with magnets glued to them...

On the other hand, I surely would have bought this had it come with all of the major KK2 figs in a nifty pack. I actually don't dislike the KK2 figs that much, and this would have been a great way to assemble a nice, colorful army.

Jellybean Knights with magnets. Considering the dearth of minifig packs, this would be great....except...they are Jellybean Knights! I passed on them when I was at the DD LEGO store, but I'm sure that some will be pleased with these.

Now see.. why would you ruin a perfectly good (suffice to say) minifig pack by gluing magnets to them? C'mon TLG, you have to be smarter than that.

For less money to the company, they could have left the magnets and glue out of it and just sold this as a minifig pack.

Thumbs down from me. But I also don't have much use for things like nick-nacks, so magnets and key chains are generally something I turn my nose up at as a big useless for my needs.

I've picked up a few of the minifig packs in the past, generally whenever I go to visit my relatives in the northern suburbs of Chicago. There is a Lego store near them.

I didn't see this pack last time I was there, or I would have picked it up.

Having magnets in the legs does nothing to limit their playability- the holes still hold to various lego studs. Actually, my 7 year old loves the lego-magnetic Yoda I got out of another minipack. He thinks it is cool that yoda can hide up on the fridge and ambush the bad guys when they round the corner into the kitchen.

Overall, if you were collecting for armor and shields, this is an excellent way to do it. I'd love to get my hands on one.

Have we really run out of castle sets already? Seems the last few reviews have been non-sets: magnet figs, castle accessories...

i've never seen this set before. i don't think i would want to use this as an army builder, nor for decoratating my fridge. for a set-collector this is a very interesting set though.

edit: a question for anyone who owns this set: do the figs stick to eachother well? that would make a funny sight!

No, there are other sets to review including vikings, most of kk2, some fright knights, and rereviews. I just felt like reviewing this after my LEGO store trip this weekend

Okay, taking it for granted that it is...

This set is either great for being a minifig pack, or pathetic for being a collection of KK2 knights.

The fact that I lack a fridge, or a metalic surface of any sort condusive to holding magnets rather makes this set pointless for me at the current time.
