Fwoosh! I'm not just impressed with the collection, I'm impressed with the work necessary to input all that! I just went through and updated just my Star Wars sets, and raised my piece count from 50,000 to 66,000, and I stopped after that from a combination of apathy and exhaustion. :D

Hehe. I add newly purchased sets instantly to the list. The biggest part of the work has been making the list when I was a fresh Lugnet member four years ago. But I 'only' had about 200 sets from my expanded childhood to input then.

I have to agree with Jojo. If you started out "small" as in
having a general idea of what sets you had while you were
a child...and are able to input them in, then putting sets in as you acquire them is much easier, rather than putting all the sets you own later.

I think its very impressive that Jojo has acquired that much Lego after only 3 or 4 years of "serious collecting".

I, myself, have sort of been in that "collecting" mode.
http://www.guide.lugnet.com/set/mlist.cgi?m=817

However, as you can see, my collection still not even close to the size of Jojo's collection. But, I do want to say is
that in the few years that I have been collecting, my
collection has increased 5-fold since I was younger (pre-1999).

Thanks, Ben

Oh please!

No more jealousy! Let the past rest!
There are people with bigger collections, more rare parts and more castle figs than me. In a moment of weakness I uploaded the pics and I'm beginning to regret it...

Look at all the nice MOCs in the MOC forum instead!

To everyone that is jealous of Jojo: know this:

I used to be wildly jealous and envious of people with larger collections, and always thought how un-fair it was that they had so much more than I.

But then, one day, I become one of those guys with larger collections.

The question is: How?

The answer: every paycheck I buy a lego set - when a sale comes through town, I grab a few. every now and then i grab rare pieces off BrickLink. Multiply this equation by a few years worth of being an AFOL, bam! I'm got a big collection.

My point is: Jojo, don't feel bad about posting the pictures. They are lots of fun, and any crap I've given you, has been in fun. ;)

I'd like to add Jojo - I am not jealous of you for your big collection, or your rare parts, or any of that. :D

Its that really cool t-shirt with the black falcon symbol on it man!!!

No wait- seriously dude. any crap I have given you has also been in fun

I actually admire all of the things you build and love the small moc's as much as the monsters like falkenstein.

oh - and btw - how'd you do the walls on this wagon?

You may have guessed it: I used SNOT technique. (pic = link)

Image

The problem was to combine elements in SNOT (because those tiles just had to be SNOTed) with an unSNOTable window. I managed to get the tiles lined up with the window but unfortunately the whole construction is not exactly 6 studs wide. It's 5 and 3/5 studs wide.

...Now waiting for BenE moving this post to "MOCs"... ;)

JoJo (which I found out at BF PDX from Axel is pronouced "yoyo" in English) you have an immpressive collection. But for light grey can anyone match Dr. Carney? He is working on a model of Chepstow right now and it is minifig scale and will moew than TEN FEET LONG! when done. Holy backboards!

Rather than feeling jealous, I would like to know if differents torsos/shields can help to date classic sets. For example, are pink 375 shields older than purple ones?
