Hey...this pictures are really promising something good...
I think the favourite thing is going to be that blacksmith...and,as I said before,I think that king is the best of all kings...
And I really hope that the colors are not glowing...
After all this time finally good castle...
And,yes,I must say...I don't like that adventurer head in castle theme....

I did not know this is a final product. In my opinion, it seems a little lacking to be a final product.

A little too pricey... but...
it is a nice hybrid of King Leo's castle and the KK2 castle.

I can still recall my original 375 when I was 12 years old (you can do the math). All the torso and sheilds as well as the castle itself were "stickered." Such a change back would be welcome to me. Yet another sign that TLC is doing it's level best to woo us back. They're succeding with this AFOL.

If my count from the last few pages of the manual are correct, there are 867 pieces. This manual should make it easy for Peeron inventory people.

Did anyone notice that the whole middle section of the castle is missing from the instructions? I'm kind of mixed on this set. I really like that they are doing a large castle as a S@H, and this has some interesting additions like the torture rack and the dwarf smith. OTOH, the whole design is pretty juniorized. Too much dependance on castle walls, turret tops, the giant worthless baseplate, and the silly HP tower piece. Of course there are also 350 studs worth of basic 1xn blay bricks, with lots of other slopes, plates, etc, but I think I'd rather spend an equivalent amount at the Pick-a-Brick wall or on Bricklink and get a lot more basic elements.

I agree with Bruce NH about the reliance on "juniorized" pieces. I have long since given up on that rant. I will eventually build in bley, and I'd like more "builders" as I have called them. Just regular bricks. No prefab walls, or molded this or worthless baseplate that. Just builders. Thank you kindly!

I believe I posted in the other thread about this set. At first I was rather positive but after seeing these pictures I'm more than disappointed.

1. There was a Bull rider which is missing in this version.
2. There are HUGE gaps in even in the frontal walls which makes me thing that there will be practically no fortifications on the back at all.
3. The baseplate is useless without proper the proper pieces to fortify it
4. Instead of a magician I would have prefferres another soldier. In general too much of the "personalized" figs - a king, a magician, a dwarf, a ghost... No one to do the fighting
5. STICKERS!!!

I know what you mean. Dwarf, I don't mind so much, but the others... Though it might be a good way for people who missed out on the ghost to snag one now... And the king's gold armor is nice...

Say it ain't so! Please, Lego, keep this Bull guy in!

And what happened to the other (good) knight in the original pictures? Or that fourth soldier?

Can any of the Admins tell us whether these guys (Bull rider, fourth soldier, good knight) are still in the set?

I don't think it's that bad - there are still three normal soldiers. And besides, a new magician in the Castle world (besides Majisto) would be excellent.

Yes, as long as the instructions are final all the figs should be there. For some strange reason the main set picture does not show all of the figures. This is quite unusual for LEGO Castle set pictures.

I don't see the King at all...

BTW... does anyone notice those brown radar dishes on opposite sides of the gatehouse-tower?

And WHY are they using KK1 emblems... which look like stickers? I hope this is just the "prototype design version" and not the final product.

Interesting but . . . . . . .

too many small tower parts, they should have been the old corner tower parts (or the larger corner that only appeared in one or two sets), too many of the heavily printed black wall parts, the blue tall slopes are ok, but what about some blue tall CORNER parts ? ? ?

Gateway - it's the one piece jobby again, it would have been much better built out of smaller re-usable blocks.

Skeletons and ghosts - I've got too many of those already.

The grey lion heads and the corner 45 degree slopes are ok, but there doesn't seem to be many of those.

Conclusion - I'll pass on this one (plus, as people have said, it's a shop@home special so it won't be available in normal shops, and thats where I get all my LEGO from)

That would be because Lenny's link is to Book Two of the instructions.
