One can use ideas from cultures withought building them into a full theme. I mean that you dont need a muslim theme to use scimitars. You dont need a byzantine theme to have cataphracts...etc Personally i'd love to see roman tower shields.
oh spidereater, hi nice to see a fellow history fan! although you probably know more than i as i'm a dabbler.

Umm.... who says that Muslims = Arabs? Pre-Islam arabs used scimitars as did many other mid-east cultures. The prefered sword fighting style in many parts of Asia were slashing swords. The Chinese even had a sword that resembled the scimitar more than the katana.
