After the multiple battles on the Magic Isles and the final disagreement between Price Jarius, Lord Triphian and Jhirian Eindrik that ended the joint offensive, Kroth was aboard the Mist Dragon a 16-oar birlinn heading back to Garheim. After only ninety minutes of sailing and still within sight of land, the young boy working the ropes on the single mast, yelled out, “Smoke on the Water!” The captain pulled out his spy-glass and changed course toward what appeared to be ship sinking fast after a battle with another ship. The other ship had no flag, and was heading directly after from the battle. As the Mist Dragon glided up to the scene of the battle, there was nothing left except for a single man floating in the water wearing red. As the boat got closer it was obvious, the man in the water was not moving and appeared to be doing a dead-mans float. As the boat was pulling up alongside a rowboat was prepared to retrieve the body. Kroth requested of the captain and was granted permission to retrieve the body.
Kroth pulled the body from the water and although they did not know who he was there was something familiar about him. He was clearly wearing armor from Loreos and had a waterproof leather scrollcase in his hand. Kroth opened the scrollcase and pulled out two documents. The first was a love letter from Kristina Tathqua to Sir Thomas of Licaronia. The second document showed a map clearly showing the plans for a joint attack on Garhiem from Loreos and Lenfald. The attack called for a limited number of troops to land just north of the Port of Grahnhaven. Those troops would be flying a black flag to mislead the Garhims to believe the attack by the Outlaws. Several days later the main force would be attacking Jahrton, hoping that any reinforcements have made the trip south.
Kroth and the captain reviewed the documents, and all that they were sure of is that war was coming. Was this a plant by the Outlaws to set the three factions at war? Is this the real plans for a coming invasion? Are these fake plans covering a real invasion? All that they knew was that they need to get these documents to the leaders of Garheim.

After Kroth returned to Havenhill, he had everyone pitching to be sure that the defenses were repaired and in tip top shape.
