Qilin (Finally, finally, finished!)

Post by TsoAutTmo »

No, It's not a typo.

It's a Qilin.

What's a Qilin? Well, here's the Ol' Wikipedia to help you: Qilin

Yup, it's like a deer-like hybrid thingy of a, well, deer, wolf, cow, horse, and all of that stuff.

It's also one of the few words in English that I know that doesn't have 'U' after the letter Q!

But anyway, yup, that' my next challenge.
It's also a Beer brand in japan, pretty famous. Over there it's spelled KIRIN, and here's the logo guy

Looking from this pic and some others on the web, I've started to build my own version - I've made the head so far.

Here it is - Folder (when moderated)

All I have to do is the legs, and then finished!

So, anyway, tell me what you think so far!

That's probably because it isn't an English word :P

Anyway, really nice, would work well on a dragon as well I think. Really good use of SNOT... and yet another thing I have to try...

Thanks so far, guys!

Well, some of you actuallyguessed it, this head used to be a part of my MINI Ryu. Unfortunately, the body didn't work out well. But I liked the head. So I looked at it. And thought... this looks like that animal on the KIRIN beer cans! SO, I checked on the web, made some modifications, and there you go...

Also, I've checked the length and heights of the Qilin, and decided this is too big for a MINI. So... this will be a normal sized model!

And I think I will make a MINI (less detailed) Qilin after I 've finished this.

Looks good so far. Which Qilin will this be? The more traditional design or the dragon-like horse shaped creature from Guild Wars?

The body's done now. Now, just a reminder to you folks. This is my own Qilin with my own color scheme! Please don't say things like the color's worng or you got that part wrong, or that... please? Thanks.

Anyway, here's the body.

I'm stuck on the legs. I don't knw a good way to build a deer like leg that would match good. Any suggestions?

Oh yeah, and i also hav to add more hair on to the tail.

And yes, my room is messy.

Quite nifty.
It looks very oriental, some people seem to have a hard time capturing that. (myself included)
All in all, very nice.
...and that's how Equestria was made!
