Every entry will be judged on its' own merit, and having the same faction between two people's entries won't make a difference.

Regarding the presentation, the MOCs don't have to be photographed and photoshopped, Lego set style do they? I'm assuming we can just take and submit regular shots for the contest (e.g in front of a white backdrop)?
Nah, this is not a photoshop contest. Clean pictures are encouraged of course, but we're not looking for something professionally done.

Wow, this is really exciting! I really want to enter this... here's hoping we're moved and the LEGOs are unpacked in time.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the entries!

Should we make the sets to be most like something that Lego would produce? Or should we be aiming for the best use of the limited number of pieces? Since there is quite a difference between the two.

Steve, who doesn't think he'll be entering, but is curious...

I have built something that does not look a thing that lego would build. Its dence, and lego's things are pretty skimpy. Good question.

That's entirely up to you.

Sounds very interesting. Hopefully I'll have the time/rescources to enter this great contest. 8)

One question: (Do forgive me if it's been explained already-still reading over the rules here.)

Would customs be allowed?
I have some nice custom Black Falcon figs that I would love to use, but if that wouldn't be allowed it's completely understandable.

Custom figs are aloud, but bricks and such are not.

Please do not ask questions concerning the contest until you have read the rules. I typed up the list of rules for a specific reason, that is, so I would have to answer as few questions as possible.

Sorry about that Tony, I completely missed that when I first looked the rules over.
Came across it last night while going over them more thoroughly and could have kicked myself.

Considering the lack of material prizes, couldn't the forum rank ethereal prizes be more permanent than a month? Of course, I'm not running the contest or even entering, so who am I to say ;)

At first, I thought they were permanent. I agree with Dan. He makes a point.

Thanks for running this Tony! This is the best contest idea I've seen here yet. I've got one week at home between summer and fall semesters, so hopefully I can whip up something in that time. The size limit will definitely help! And I can't express how badly I want to be the Royal Engineer.

Clone brands are disallowed, I'll guess?
Does the theme have to be minifig-scale?
