I'm sorry Darkspawn, but even without considering your baseplate issues, none of your sets match the piece limit criteria set up by the contest. The $100 category, for example, has a maximum of 1200 pieces allowable. Had you been 10 or 20 over, that may have been ignorable, but you are a full 138 pieces over limit. That's 13.8% over the already generous 20% overrun allowance.

I understand you have collection limitations regarding to which pieces you have access, but so does everyone else. I could bend the rules for your baseplates, but I can't bend the rules for you twice.

Also, please declare to which categories each of your sets belong.

No problem, Tony. Looks as though I have misunderstood the piece count restrictions. I thought the 20% leeway was ontop of the stated range, my mistake ;)

EDIT - Entry rebuilt & resubmitted

I'll be done soon too. I'm rounding off my fourth one, and have started on my fifth.

Edit: I have just finished taking pictures, now I just have to resize and do a little editing in Photoshop.

The contest ends a week from today, but currently there are only two entries with two others on the way.

Do I need to extend the contest deadline a few weeks? Would that help the rest of you finish your entries?

I've been done for about a week or so, but haven't gotten photos taken yet. They'll be up in a day or two. Promise. I hope.

I vote not to extend the deadline. Its unfair to the people who hurried to meet the deadline...

Not that I've got any entries... :D

Introducing All Saints Monastery Theme.

Image

Located beyond the city walls, the All Saints Monastery serves as an oasis of peace in a turbulent world.

ASM-090 Chapel ~539 pcs including 6 minifigs
Not only does this chapel serve the needs of the monastery, but also of two nearby villages (Pentard and Wottleburn) and local manors. Thus it has both a main parish entrance, plus smaller cloister entrances. In this set we see the Vicar administering the sacraments, accompanied by two choral monks, while Lady Waltraud and the peasants Ewan and Rhiane look on.

ASM-080 Inn ~224 pcs including 2 minifigs
Not only spiritual, but physical peace can be found at All Saints. The inn provides lodging to travelers in an inhospitable land. Master Bennett surveys the sleeping quarters, while downstairs Konrad the baker prepares to enjoy some of the fruit of the vine.

ASM-060 Gate ~134 pcs including 2 minifigs
Against a determined force, the cloister gates would not hold out long, but they do provide a modicum of security. Travelers or locals wishing entrance can reach through the opening to ring the bell. Brother Edel is a diligent gatekeeper. Pitney, servant of Master Bennett, leads his employer's horse into the cloister. The pack horse loaded with merchandise is already tied up.

ASM-040 Abbot's Office ~94 pcs including 1 minifig
Abbott Petrus rules firmly yet benignly. His quarters include a bed, desk, chair, plus a confessional alcove reached by a separate door.

ASM-020 Apothecary ~55 pcs including 1 minifig
Brother Truman is skilled in the medicinal arts. From his little corner of the cloister he dispenses cures, while also observing the comings and goings of the monastery.

All 5 sets laid out.

Next year's sets include:
Dormitory and stables
Hospice
Scriptorium
Miller's wagon

PS Now that's done, I will do what all good Legomaniacs do with newly built sets... I'm going to change & add to them as I choose!

What a great idea! The monestary is great and is a very unique idea. I personaly would have done the monks in brown, but black is still affective. Good luck in the contes.

God's speed
