Lol, so true.
Its not true. I would consider it an enormous favor if people would refrain from comments like this, please. It is discourteous and it is defeatist in attitude. Thank you.
To be honest I'm a little dumbfounded as to how you people think I'm some sort of extremely talented builder - I'm not. I just build big, which makes things SEEM talented ;)

That's quite a boast! Especially given the high caliber of entries already, and the number of people who have yet to weigh in. You intrigue me... :)

Oh oh oh I bought a LOT of LEGO via net (helmets, shields, swords and things for battle), but it was planed to arrive at May 11-th

But the packet is coming in Sunday ;) and I am finishing with job in Monday (and planning to call sick for a few days :)

hohoho it will be like a construction site at my place, because, LEGO building will take few days - but building the construction that will hold all the strings - ...I do not even have a clue :)

+ I took some neon lights from neighbors, for extra lighting :)

...now I am under pressure :) all this boasting - it better be good :)

And about the entries so far - wow... fantastic
I'm adoring some things, but I will speak about particular ones after the end of contest
Especially some "oh, I do not have a chance", and when I follow the link, first thing that comes to my mind is: "Megablocks... I will need more strings...!" :)

The thing that bothers me, when people say that they can't compete with talented builders, is that Lego is a pretty level playing field. We have all restricted ourselves to this one toy. Its not like some of us have a secret recipe or something. There isn't anything that the "talented" builders can build that I can't. They have simply put more into it. Anyone can become "talented" in this hobby, if they apply themselves.

Problem is, with people like me, I don't have many pieces and can barely build anything with a solid color larger than 6x6.

I respect that. However, you can build something 6x6. So work with that. Don't focus on what you don't have. Focus on what you have. Do you have any figs? It only takes two to make a battle. I would love it if a 6x6 vignette, with really well-posed figs, were to win this contest.

In fact, I'll give you a hint. This has happened every time I've run this contest. Some of the largest and most elaborate entries will have no chance of winning. Why? Because the fig posing won't be good enough. Good ideas? Yes. Talented builders? Yes. Figs posed as if they were real? No. I can guarantee that this will be the downfall of the losers in this contest.

Yikes!

I don't know how in the world I did it, but I missed this contest up until now. I'm hoping to enter at least something, being a great fan of this contest.

..Currently cleaning up my wreck of a room now (No chance of getting any building done in there 'til it's cleaned :P ), but I should be able to cook up a little entry!

...Now if you'll excuse me I've got a room to clean, rules to read, and a battle to plan!

If the color is a problem, try black and white pictures?
Or put a peace of... I do not know word on English for it, but I will try to describe: it is like paper, but opaque, and in some colure, some synthetic material put it in front of the lamp (red or blue or any color) and it will level differences in your LEGO bricks color (to some level)

Maybe the judge is daltonist (can see different colors)

Maybe he likes colorful and happy and spring-like pictures with ALL colors in it ;)

Anyway, less talking, more building, for me :)

The answer is in the first post with the rules, young friend:

One question to the contest

I am still sweating with my sole and only entry hoping I can make it in time.

My question is am I allowed to enter pictures which itself contain 3 or 4 pictures, as long as the size of the main pic stays within the limits?
Take as an example the following link of my MOC of church Legostino:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=278068

It is easier for me to have clusters of pics for presentation purposes, as I am not a friend of clicking through too many pics in the internet.

Thanks for your comment,

That is an excellent idea. I will probably do that in future contests. ;)

Here I am, replying. MegaBloks are not customs. They are clone bricks. The difference is that custom pieces are meant to supplement Lego, while clone bricks are meant to compete. Clone bricks are not allowed. As for wooden blocks, you are right. They aren't clone bricks. They also aren't Lego (unless they are very old!) and, therefore, aren't allowed either.

Yes, if I understand you correctly. As long as the composite picture is inside the limits, it is alright that you put several together.

Hey

Could you give me some sort of approximation of when the results will be announced?

Thanks :)

It usually takes me about a week, but no guarantees! :D There seem to be a lot more entries this year (I haven't actually counted them yet) and the quality is way up also. This may be a really hard one to judge...

Is it okay to double-post if you're posting consecutive entries in a contest thread?

Just a thought.

Thanks in advance.
