Black Monarch’s Deception

Long having suffered at the hands of Viking attacks the men of the Lion Knight and Black Falcon realms ended their peace and began preparing for war. The Vikings, having no desire to fight a united front, quickly landed a night attack and burned the Falcon’s fleet down almost to a single ship and then proceeded to meet the Lion Knight’s navy at sea obtaining a bloody victory. With a huge ransom, the Lion Knight’s king bought peace once more. With the two greatest threats under heel the Vikings turned to new lands.

The Black Monarch, having not been the focus of Viking attacks before soon found what had until recently been to his advantage soon was leaving his kingdom in ruins. Gathering all the ships of his navy as well as those of his merchants, traders, fishermen and other ship owners he prepared for a sea battle. Obtaining the Shadow Lords aid for a small concession of mutual aid in a future attack on one of their enemies the force was readied at the largest port of the Black Monarch’s realm.

Being clever and a warrior of great renown the Black Monarch knew meeting the Vikings at sea would be on their preferred terrain and so devised a plan to deal with the thieves and robbers that burned his lands and killed his people. Luring the Vikings to the finger shores along the northern boundary of his kingdom he made his attack.

Battle for Falcon Bridge

Post by Aragornn45 »

I present the Battle for Falcon Bridge.
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=311582

The Falcon Bridge has long been defended by the Falcon garrison, however, they are no match for the skeleton catapults. After a heavy bombardment the skeleton forces have moved in on the bridge supported by a few catapults perched a ways away on the high ground. Enter the forces of the king, valiant soldiers bent on protecting what is left of the ravaged town.

A few highlights:

In this picture we see the good priest startled by the appearance of skeleton reinforcements

This skeleton is probably regretting his mode of transportation to the battle
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=3094454

Almost made it across the bridge...almost
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=3094486

Here a few guys try to bypass the bridge all together

Here's a nice overview also showing a few of the villagers that didn't make it to the other side of the bridge

Good luck to all who enter.

Hey,

I just went through this thread and changed at least half of the images to links. Please don't post images over 400 pixels in the forum. I realize that many of these were from new forum members, so you might want to check through the Terms of Service post and the Admin Announcements post in the administrative forum for more about CC. Usually I change things to thumbnails, but there were just too many for me to take all the time to do that.

Colossus of the Old World

Post by Life_Unscripted »

Four hundred feet above the silent dirt and forest below, the bellowing roar of a bygone titan vibrates the ears. The pounding of footsteps are like drums from the abyss. The air is putrid with stench, a thousand years of unwashed flesh and the crisp iron smell of spilled blood. The monster takes no notice to the pricks of the embattled cluster of gnats nibbling at his frame. His story is older then their feeble attempts to bring him into the earth that bore him. The cyclops lives on... The old world endures!

The Quickest Way

Post by Tinch »

Hello and thanks for running an interesting competition! I hope everyone appreciate all the work it takes.

I've had a blast building this entry, and whether it's competitive or not, it's been a joyful experience. It's one of my first MOCs so I'm pretty happy with my results.

It's called "The Quickest Way," and as for a summary of events, I think it explains itself.

Sorry Bruce. I though 800x600 pixels or less' was what I had done. I could go back and make them smaller pictures if you like over links.
