Tarot Cards

Post by Webrain »

Not sure here how many of you know what is Tarot deck, heard about it or familiar with the cards concept.
Anyway as a project I made a version of my own Tarot cards (well so far 19 out of 22 cards)

and here is a link

Hope you'll like it and I'll try to add the 3 missing soon

Awesome! I especially liked the "between the horses" view on Chariot along with the sea creature on the front.

great cards

Post by januson »

i've toyed with making an entire deck (not just the major arcana but all the minor arcana as well), but when i started to actually do it, i was trying a bit too hard to copy the images from the rider waite deck detail for detail, even the exact angles. i've recently been thinking about trying again but making it more my own, taking the themes, even some of the imagery but not being so exact

and you've inspired me to get on it sooner rather than later... well, after i try an entry for the chess contest and get a spaceship moc out of my head

Very neat Webrain. Looks like a great deal of thought went into the design of each card. Looks good.

Thanks everybody for the comments

yeah well as you can see I didn't take it by the details I tried to give my own expression and I wanted MOCs rather then photoshop edits (one of the points that were very important for me)

I might start making after I'll done the rest of the cards probably the Royal family first

Do you practice Tarot as well?

I thought about doing a tarot card vignette series, but decided I had too many unfinished series already.

I think some pictures of the original cards might be nice for comparison.

I like the hermit the best. The background color, text and figure just all work well together.
