Many entries that were not on Brickshelf when mine were submitted are up already. Do you think you can give us a list of what is waiting approval? Thanks!
I wouldn't worry about it if I were you, mine were moderated in no particular order: the one I submitted last was moderated first.
Personally I think it would be much better if the judges used the time they can spare to actually moderate and judge entries, rather than make lists of what still awaits moderation and then adapt the list when more stuff gets moderated.

Fair enough, I would never try to force extra work on others, do unto others and all.

proposal for next CCC VII

Post by Giorgio Chronas »

I agree that making lists of the post would be too much work, but maybe something in that direction would be practicable indeed. I have seen people posting twice, most probably fearing their entry has not been registered (technically). Maybe for next CCC it would be nice introducing some sort of automatic counter for every participant counting its amount of entries. This way one can rely no "technical problem" made an entry "disappear".
Other than this I think the contest was excellent in its presentation and features (far better than last year or the years before). It was really very fun surfing through the entries, now lets see how the judges rule...

Ultimately, since I believe it's a requirement to have a Classic-Castle Forum Userid in order to submit an entry, I'd love to modify the code such that it used your phpBB login information. That way you could actually check the status of your submissions, and verify that they were in the system or not. That's something I wanted to add to the system initially, but wasn't easy to add in.

It'd also be nice (another thing I wanted to add) to track problems within the utility-- so an admin could tag entry #45 as unaccepted with a comment of "images too large" (or whatever), and the system could email the submitter to that effect, and it would be available for the submitter to see in the interface. That would probably be preferable to seeing a publicly visible "naughty list".

Public humiliation can be an excellent motivator ;) But I do agree that these options for future contests would be very helpful.

I'm going to let this thread go. Go about your normal business until the judging is done. Nothing to see here.
