CCCVII Entry: Medieval Mariner: Stranded Forestmen

Post by FirebenderDude2 »

Voila! My entry to the CCCVII (and my first published MOC):

STRANDED FORESTMEN

Trapped on a small island with only one tree, will the Forestmen work together, or kill each other to see who gets to hug the tree? Only time will tell...

Photos being put in for judging

Gallery

(All are on Flickr, just so ya know.)

GO TEAM TROY!

Woe is me, woe is me, I used to have a hamster tree. Then it got eaten by a newt and now I have no cuddly fruit.

I was hoping to see a Forestmen boat , which was tangled in a tree but still, this has got some good details. Maybe I'll just use my idea.

The Island is a bit small I noticed, and it does not elevate by sand level (Most islands do). How did they get there? There's no boat wreckage, did they swim? Maybe it a bit more explanation is do.

You don't see the light gray boat prow sticking out of the water? Didn't I use pictures of it? :?

I see the boat, and this is a nice idea. A few suggestions: try clearing the area behind the photo so it is distracting. Also, a higher angle of shot would give us an overall look that is missing here. I like the fig positioning, and the use of the grill plate for waves is a nice idea!

The final version looks great! Love the fig positioning as well, you do get a sense that those guys are really relieved to finally make it to land.

Thanks guys, I'm thinking of doing a version 2.0, though. This one wasn't that good, really.
