5. Your entry has to show the set that you're castlifying, and nothing more. No fancy mambo jambo on the side, we want to see the set.
Just want to make sure I understand what you mean by this point - you don't want us to "castlify" a $15 set and then plop it on a 64x64 base with a bunch of landscaping and scenery. (i.e. everything present in our castlification should more or less have an analogy in the original set, and we should try to keep similar proportions and sizes)
Exactly. You should basically portray what the set portrays. You're not necessarilly limited to the price of the set: if your MOC is a bit bigger or smaller that's no problem.
Just if your set is for example just a bus, we want to see just a medieval bus, not a medieval bus on a dirt road with rocks in the background and trees around it. For example.
TooMuchCaffeine wrote:Nice contest. I'm in. One question though...

Can we mock up one of our entry images a box art for our "Time Twisted" set, or would that count as "fancy mambo jambo"?
If you want to make a box art with one of your images, that's fine, the fancy mambo jambo is more referring to what you might build around it with LEGO.
€quuïɳox wrote:My question is this: Does "castlify" include making it with an Orc/Skeleton theme, or does it have to remain knights/evil knights/etc?
Fantasy has become a prominent enough part of the Castle line in the past 3 years, so fantasy is indeed allowed.

I just came up with a question:
Orient Expedition.
In some ways, its modern with cars, planes, guns and such stuff. But it also got those samurai-like folks, old temples etc..
So, are we allowed to "castlify" (funny word :) ) OE sets, or are they too close to ninja?

Look at this in a very black-and-white way: Since the Orient Expedition theme isn't set in medieval times, you can use this theme.

Hey Brickinater,

Welcome to CC. That's pretty much the way it is usually done (or with Brickshelf, MOCpages etc). Here's the way to post pics and links in the forum.

Aw man, I had wanted to make that... another question, since this is an example, will it be fine if I remade the same set?

Yep, that's fine. And even if it wasn't an example but an entry, it would still be fine. There's no rule against two people deciding to castlify the same set.

Alright, I have but one more question. Does the Castlified remake have to be in the same scale as the original set?

It should be relatively the same size. The set has to be recognizable. Ginormous or even micro-scale can make a set unrecognizable.
