Hello All,

My first post here, I hope you like my entry for the Time Twisters Contest, this was the reason for me to finally register here on Classic Castle after some time of reading every now and then. I hope you like my entry. I have attempte to castlefy technic set 8250, the search sub. To make the sub as real as can be in castle times, I have changed a few things from the original design. The grappers are operated manually by the driver of the sub and propulsion is also manual labour, in the back are 2 castle figs working hard turning the drive shafts for the 2 propellors. And because there is no compressed air, there is a snorkle that should provide the sub with air, which means the sub can't go to deep. The last thing that had to be changed was controls for going up or down, because it is a bit hard to use balast tanks that can be pumped full of air to rise or flooded with water to go deeper, the castle sub uses fins to go up or down, by changing the angle of the fins.
I tried to design a few technic bits in the sub, because technic is something I also like. The propellors can turn and the angle of the side fins can be adjusted, all from the inside.

Here are the pictures:

Great contest!!! :D

Here is my first entry, Armored Bear rider

It is a twist on set #7708 http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/7708-1?showpic=5681

Here is the folder http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=422044

And here is my second entry, Fortified Pizzeria

It is a twist on set #6350 http://www.peeron.com/scans/6350-1/1/

Here is the Brickshelf folder http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=422045

This was an interesting set to twist because I don't actually own any Lego Pizzas myself. I changed it a little so I could put the ingredients to make a pizza on the counter and stuck in a makeshift one for the delivery boy.
The backgrounds of the pictures are also weird. This is because I was experimenting with natural lighting and did not feel like doing a lot of photo-shopping.

Again, this is a great contest and I wish I started building sooner. :(
Thanks,
Balamorgineas

I'm thinking of using some flame pieces with the tabs cut off - is this allowed?

Now, to build the Death Star overnight... somehow!

Without knowing that allweird would take the same original set as a starting point, I think I've come up with a different moc though.

Here are my Forest Men on Patrol:

obviously a twist on set 7595:

I first wanted to make a green set, but as green wheels nor horses do exists in the Lego world, and a strict as possible monocolor policy worked best, I decided to go with brown forestmen. The equipment is maintained including boobytrap detector and high speed "on-air" communication.

Normally I'm against customizing, and so is Blue, but we agreed the tabs from the flame piece are such a minor adjustment, it's no big deal. If you need to cut them off to fit the flames in right, go for it.

1620-2 Chocomel Factory

Click to see 600 px versions.

This is my entry: I turned the Chocomel factory into a brewery - there was no Chocomel (chocolate flavored milk) in the Middle Ages. I had to change a few more things along the way:

I have two extra minifigs. I had to, because there was no electricity, so more manpower is needed. Instead of the streetlight, a boy has to hold up a torch. And somebody needs to manually pull those chains.

There is a quite a lot more vegetation in my version - obvious, there weren't so well groomed streets and sidewalks back then. There are some rocks, too.

The traffic sign is a replaced by a sign that explains that there's a brewery here - in a language that even analphabetics (95% of the population, at least) can read.

The flower stall has become a fruit stall - now who would buy flowers in the Middle Ages? But farmers did come to the city to sell their produce of course.

And the gentleman with the suit and the letter has become a knight with a shield and a sword, obviously. And he walks on the road instead of crossing it.

Two more views from different angles, click to enlarge:

On Flickr my main image is larger, but the 600 px version that the main image here links to is of course my official entry.

Here is my entry for the Time Twisters Contest: Medieval Corner, a twist on 7641 City Corner.

MEDIEVAL CORNER

Build a corner scene from LEGO Castle! Will the peasant be late for the cart? Will the stable hand get the horse of his dreams? And who gets to enjoy the freshly-brewed ale? It’s all up to you! Build a tavern, stable, and cart with cart stop. Includes 5 minifigures (cart driver, barmaid, stable hand, stableman, and peasant) and accessories! Lots of play opportunity: includes tavern, stable, cart and cart stop! Highly detailed! Working doors and windows, seat the minifigures on the wagon or have them dine at the tavern. Don’t forget to pick up the horse at the stable!
