My First MOC!

Post by plums_deify »

Hey. We've all been there, right? New builders, trying to figure out our style...then we discover photo hosting and a community for our favorite theme.

Some of us have been around for quite some time, and I know we've all got something hiding in our Brickshelf folders or Flickr galleries...that one MOC that was your first. The first one you built--and photographed--and posted. The lighting might be off, and our background choice may be questionable. But we were learning, and that's what's important.

So share em' here! We want to see. It's good for ALL builders to know where they came from. It shapes where you're going to go!

I shall start this off. I am and always have been a builder of tan castles. I have this thing for desert castles. WAY back before I joined CC this little castle that I built..was posted on this forum by my friend because I was at one point, too timid to show it off and talk here.

Image

I still build in tan. I shall probably always build in tan. If you can't find tan on bricklink, well figure it like this..Blue was buying out the tan bricks again. Oh and I do have a really cool tan castle creation that shall be shown soon.

Here is its original thread..waaaaaaaaaaay back when.

Ah, I was such a newbie back then. My first stuff here was, well, interesting. I do believe this was the first MOC I posted here. It was built for that Tudor house bandwagon that was going around.

And here's the original thread, beginning with my first ever CC post:

I think the first thing I posted here was my Black Falcon's Fortress redux.

I of course have many Star Wars MOC's that are far older than this but, hey, this is a LEGO castle forum right?

Trust me, I think I'm funnier than you do.

Aewsionme thread! It's really cool to see all this old school stuff.

Here's my one, coincidentally also a redux of a set like Trevor above me, set 6081 in my case:

I built one castle before that, but I don't have pictures of it anymore :(

My first MOC on Brickshelf was a little villa. I never posted it publicly on any forum.

My first MOC posted to a forum was the Ruins of Mourning. I no longer have photos of the first incarnation, but the photos here are the redo. All I did was prepare the MOC for viewing from all angles instead of one. :)

To put a few things into perspective, I was 19 when I posted those, and it was 2004.

Old MOC Is old.

This is a fun thread and suitably humbling to us old fogeys. I'm not sure if this is my first posted MOC but its one of them. I searched Lugnet and this is earliest MOC posting I can find.

Embarassing little hut

Josh

PS. Here is the original Lugnet thread. The post shows two MOCs but the hut was built first...not that the windmill is much better. :)

Haha, all my most shameful creations were disposed of with my MOCpages account. Trust me, they were so bad I couldn't allow them to survive

This was my first castle moc I made after coming out of my dark age.
Here's the cc THREAD.
The landscaping and interior were a little iffy, but otherwise I'm still satisfied with it. Can't believe its been 5 years!

This is the first Castle Moc I think I posted on CC. Link. Incidentally, I revised it once and am currently in the process of revising it a second time. Here is the original thread: Evil Castle ... for lack of a better name.

my first posted moc was not too long ago. I took plenty of pictures before but this was the first time i thought it looked good enough.
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=440014
this one was unusual for me because normally I build castles.
He who thinks you should look at the box that says "Quaraga" if you want to find out his username (about as useful to you as his real name). he only wants you to look so he can laugh about you looking there because he's a total smart...

My first castle Moc was this. A two years and three months later, I built this. People change :)

Don't get me wrong, I've been building Star Wars since 1999, and with Legos two years before that, but I never took pictures.

Oh, this is a fun topic. The first thing that I posted to my flickr account that was not DUPLO and was more than a tablescrap was this:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/eilonwy77/ ... 054526317/

I had gotten the Medieval Market Village for my birthday, and wanted to try to make something along those lines, but the only colors I had enough of were black and yellow.
