I have revived and placed a sticky on this long dead thread, because:

1) I think it is really good that we shared where we started. Everyone starts somewhere.
2) I spent the last 30 minutes searching for it so share again.
3) I would like to encourage others to add on to it.

First 'finished' moc:

I also did a few random builds before this when I first came out of my dark ages. One of these was this older castle - note that due to my inexperience I only purchased 1x2x5 bricks as they were cheaper. These days I use them mainly as landscape filler.

Everybody's first MOCs are great! I love seeing this.

I looked through my stuff, and although some of the first MOCs that I remember making were around 1986, I don't have any pictures of these, at least digitally. I'll have to really dig through negatives to see if I can find a copy. I'll post if I can find them.

This is a picture of a castle that I started in 1990, but later abandoned. It was never finished, but is probably the first MOC that I have a digital picture of. Pardon all the junk and extra pieces in the middle of the castle. It was a work in progress.

These are not my first, but they are the earliest I have pictures of:

Maybe, someday, when I get back to my mothers, I'll go through the photo albums and find some of my really early MOCs.

I wish I could post a pic of my first MOC, but it was SO Long ago. Not even sure when I started. I think I was born playing with Legos. I have a pic from when I was probably 4 holding a crude brick built airplane and surrounded by a bunch of hot wheels. I know this wasn't my first build though. I had set 6265 Saber Island somewhere in there as one of my first or possibly my first set. I know I built very crude castles, towers, and "pirate" ships.

I think it's safe to say I've improved a lot

This topic made me have to go dig up my old brickshelf, I'm surprised that site's still around.

I believe this is my first posted moc, It actually had two versions made within a week of eathother,
Version 1:

Version 2:

The pictures are links to the brickshelf folder.

If my building didn't improve at least my photography has.

I've been around for a while I had built forts, churches and the random stone building but the first "proper" castle I ever built was THIS guy, at this point I had run out of 1x4 bricks and came up with the cheesy solution of adding the scaffold for a WIP finish.
