Aha! Finally someone took the initiative to post this incredible creation. The curving wall in the front is what really catches your eye then as you go closer you can see all the painstaking details namely the rocks grass and inner details. The rock work is simply astounding. The layout of the castle is also very unique but also practical. All in all this was one of the better castles I've seen all year. He sort of posted it early for CCC though...

I like how the castle seems to sit within the rock landscape rather than just on it. The curved walls are awesome and I think I like the angled-ness of the buildings the best. I also like the balconies and the windows seem appropriate and not over done. Props on the gate house and breaking up the BGW syndrome. :eyebrows: It really is perfect as is. The only think I might be tempted to add/change if it were mine, would be to add more flags, maybe try tiled water, and possibly switch out some of the 1x2's with some of the modified 1x2's to add texture or for adding leaf pieces.

I never intended to enter this in the CCC (rules are clear about posting early)...but I am very eager to see the categories for this year! Should be lots of fun. Thank you for the kind comments, and thanks Bruce for posting this in the forum.

Best regards,

To echo what Quickblade said, I like the way the walls of the castle meet with the rock foundation. One can only imagine what you could create with a bigger table. :raiseone: Nice job.

Yeah, great curved wall and nice rocks. The inner yards of the castle are just brilliant !

I am a sucker for interiors and I love how the interiors and exteriors blend together on this castle. Outstanding!!

Well, this looks like ANOTHER plain old thingamajigger. It's NOT amazing with its amazing rounded walls, mountain base that blends into it, lovely landscape, and fabulous interior.
ILL BET YOU NEVER GOT A COMPLIMENT LIKE THAT BEFORE, BRIAN. :D

Very, very nice work! I enjoy the clean lines and tasteful architecture sprinkled throughout. There are plenty of nice details to keep your eyes interested, while not too busy. However, the main thing I really like about this MOC is the angle at which the entire thing is set against the 'grid' of the landscaping! THAT had to have taken some engineering... :twitch:

OMG that is awsome :twitch: I love the curved wall and the rocks seem to melt in to the castle instead of just stopping and becoming flat then the castle connects. oh and I have only been using lego's for 5 year's and started when I was 8 so I am still learning but I would really like to now how to make the round wall (I use flat walls with corners and stuff) and how to get just pieces for a good price (and maybe people). I would also like to know some more stuff about building teckneeks (can't spell) so I would like some idea's from you people by message if you can! Oh and again I LOVE THE CASTLE. :D

Magnificent! A truly beautiful creation. The merging of many shapes, both from the rocks and the castle itself, is all masterfully done. The overall look is smooth, letting the eye run over it easily but gladly. Stupendous work.
