Colossal Castle Contest 8

Post by architect »

The CC Team is proud to announce our eighth annual building contest: The Colossal Castle Contest VIII. It will begin on November 1st and end on December 31st, 2010.

This contest is a bit different than other contests. We have a variety of categories each with one prize for the winner. Some categories require small creations and others need larger ones. Everyone, even with a limited supply of bricks, should be able to enter several categories. We are looking for creativity, not who has the most LEGO.

Check out the prizes. Seven Classic Castle sets including the highly popular Knight's Procession, Knight's Tournament, and Town Square are prizes. There are are also vintage misb sets, custom medieval weapons, and new castle sets. It truly is colossal!

Thank you to Rich Stehnach "Blackrock", Ben Ellermann, Trevor Van Aalst, BrickArms, BrickForge, The Brothers Brick, and the LEGO Company for donating prizes. The rules can be found
here. Enjoy!

Note: Please feel free to ask contest questions in this thread. It may take one to two days for an admin to answer your specific contest questions. The contest pages will become live at midnight US Eastern Time, November 1st.

I would like to make a 'preparing for war' layout, but I have a question: I want to do it with trolls, not with humans. May I do that, or not?

The rules do not say anything about what type of faction or creatures you have to use. You do not have to use humans.

Well, this is awesome! I love this contest!
When the rules says:
"You may use custom weapons only in the Custom Castle Figure and Miscellaneous categories.",
does it include BrickForge, Brickarms e.t.c.?

I've been waiting for this contest all year. last year I watched in awe at some of the creations submitted, but didn't compete myself. I've been sorting allot the past days to finally get my whole collection sorted out, and take on this contest! :)

A question regarding the "Realistic Castle" category: does the castle have to be complete or can it be a cutaway section greater than 32x32 studs?
