Almighty! I've cleared my LEGO table, and my head of all non-castley MOCs, have sorted and begun preparations for the great CCC!

Thanks to all involved for running this year after year after year! (wow, really, 8 years...?!) It seems like just the other day the CCCIII brought me here... :twitch:
The prizes and categories are all fantastic (a huge thank-you to all the donators, as well). Now to go bash out ideas!

Should characters based on fantasy but that could be real such as Achilles (Troy), Maximus (Gladiator), or Aragorn (Lord of the Rings) be entered into the fantasy or realistic category? All are fantasy characters but with a slight name change (Greek Hoplite, Roman General, ect.) would be considered a realistic figure.
Sorry to be a bother but I think my question got skipped over. Basically should a character based on fantasy but that could be seen as realistic be entered into the fantasy or realistic castle fig category?

A specific character from a legend would be a fantasy character while a generic soldier would be realistic. Of course Greek Hoplites and Roman Generals do not meet the time period required for this medieval castle contest.

Ok, I have another question, can I use flex-tube cut to whatever length I need it?

Yes.

String is also another thing that can be cut to the needed length for all categories. Avoid using string that doesn't look similar to LEGO string (ie: Yarn and Twine) in the non-custom categories.

Entries won't go up right away. It takes until one of the admins checks that it fits the contest rules. We'll generally get to it in a day or so. I have to admit that I haven't been looking at these regularly yet.

Actually it is worse than that. We will start a thread called the CCC8 Naughty List that details the mocs violate specific rules.

I don't think this was addressed before, but are we allowed to use modified parts in entries other then the custom figures?

No, but there are a few exceptions such as string and flex tube. These items can be cut to custom lengths.

In the mythical battle catogory does it have to be all fantasy figures eg. wizards vs trolls, or can it be fantasy and human eg. trolls vs black falcons?
